Report: Zimmerman Passed Police Lie Detector Test

A day after killing Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman reportedly passed a police lie detector test when asked if he confronted the teen and if he feared for his life “when you shot the guy,” according to documents released today by Florida prosecutors.

Zimmerman “was classified as No Deception Indicated (NDI)” according to the report.

Problem is, even if George Zimmerman is telling the truth, he was still the aggressor of this altercation. By Zimmerman’s own account, he followed Trayvon Martin, against the advice of the 911 dispatcher, and profiled him as one of “these guys” who had committed break-ins in the past.

According to Zimmerman, Trayvon walked past him once and disappeared, then circled his car and disappeared. Even if Zimmerman’s story is 100% truthful, that still left him with two opportunities to extricate himself from the situation, and he chose not to. So it was still a series of bad choices by Zimmerman that led to Trayvon Martin’s death. There’s no getting around that.

Well for starters, I wouldn’t call them by a name that gave a false impression about their nature.

How about if I call it:

Physiological Response to Stress which Might be Interpreted as Resulting from the Subject Giving Deceptive Answers to Questions, but not an Absolute Indicator of such Test.

Is that better than Lie Detector Test???

Three questions: Why should Zimmerman run away?

Because a US citizen obviously has no right to walk on the same public land that someone else presumes to be "his personal war zone." I can't think of any other reason.

What is the "situation" Zimmerman should "extricate" himself from?

The writer is obviously raysist. Nobody else would suggest that one Hispanic man and one Black man within 100 feet of each other would be known as a "situation" (such as an alarming development that calls for special actions.)

Why is it a bad choice for Zimmerman to stay?

Every non-black citizen of these United States should fear black citizens and run away as fast as possible. Again, I have no other explanation for this racist opinion of the writer.

A sane journalist would simply say that both men were in public space, and as long as they don't threaten each other in an obvious way they are free to do whatever they want, walk wherever they may, talk to people, and so on. There were no laws broken until TM hit GZ; TM was the aggressor.

This seems to be the latest effort to recover something from the original narrative that had GZ as the aggressor, and TM as an innocent victim. Now, TM was somehow provoked beyond all forebearance by GZ calling the cops. It’s thin gruel after the original story, but it does have traction with a small subset of people who desperately want to beleive the essence, if not the facts, of the “America is an Evil Racist den of nasty white Hispanics” story line.

For that matter, I’d like to see just how good a liar Angela Corey is...

Well, she went to school to become a liar, er, lawyer!

Frankly I don’t care what you call it, so long as you don’t call it by a name that gives a false impression about its nature or its function.

You are aware that many courts have ruled that polygraph “evidence” is inadmissible?

I realize that, and it is inadmissible in the Florida courts as well.

However in the court of public opinion, and in the court of police investigators on the night of a crime, the fact that a suspect took one and passed it lends a degree of credibility to his statements that would not have been there otherwise.
