Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet has finally wrangled the transfer we were hoping for for several years. Her company transferred her to their Denton, Texas store. We don't know anyone in that area, so we were hoping that maybe someone here at FR would know their way around North DFW. If anyone knows of a house, duplex/triplex/fourplex, mobile home, condo, townhome, guest home or apartment for rent within commuting distance (leass than 15-20 miles from Denton) that would be about $700 or less...
You might want to think about Argyle, which is just to the Southwest of Denton.
I live in Flower Mound, so I am somewhat familiar with Denton County, although I don’t get up to Denton all that much. But I love living here.

Watch for areas that cater to party-oriented college students - there are two Universities in town. Things will probably be more affordable in the more rural areas to the north and west - east and southeast are going to be in the Dallas suburbs. Gainesville sounds like it would be farther than you would like, but Sanger might be a possibility. With a large pool of renters, you might have difficulty finding something suitable in that range in Denton.

North Denton county is very beautiful especially around the Lake Ray Roberts area and there are a lot of small communities around up there that would be an easy commute to Denton (<20 miles). I live in a wide spot in the road called Krugerville just 8 minutes from Denton. Nice, quiet community with lots of friendly people.
