Remove the Media from the Debates
PJ Media ^ | 8/13/12 | Roger L Simon

Posted on 08/13/2012 3:09:24 PM PDT by Lakeshark

I was appalled, although not surprised, to read the just announced list of moderators for the forthcoming presidential debates: Jim Lehrer of PBS, Candy Crowley of CNN, Bob Schieffer of CBS, and Martha Raddatz of ABC (VP debate).

All liberals from liberal news organizations. Not even a token representative from Fox or the Wall Street Journal – not in the moderator seat anyway.

Don’t we live in a democracy? Or is this Syria or Egypt where its new Islamist president just wrested power from the military?
**snip**

But there is something we can do about it even at this late date: protest and protest loudly. In this manner, we highlight the bogus quality of the debates. Even if our candidates perform better than the opposition, continue the protest. They can talk about the economy. We can still protest the bias.

Demand the moderators be removed even if they are not. As Churchill told us, never, ever give up. Someone might even be listening. And that someone is the American people.

Want to do something for the election? Protest this rotten system and loudly. Good points, an article worth reading.

I’ll never understand why the GOP falls for the MSM “moderator” (aka, cheerleader) joke election after election.

Hold four debates and let the GOP choose two moderators (say, Hillsdale College and The Heritage Foundation) and let the Dems choose two (say, an arbitrary “leader” of OWS and Bill Ayers).

I'd like to see Greg Gutfeld and Dennis Miller instead.

Bet there would be some good debate and be hilarious at the same time.

The CPD is heavily weighted with liberals. The “mainstream” media moderators is by design to make sure the Democrat in the debates looks good.

You wasted lots of time with the dumbest, most fraudulent list ever.

Maybe you could actually try to attack the opposition for a change instead of being an Axelrod conservative.....

But that would be a waste of your time, right?

There is a national forensics league that high schools use for speech competitions. Why not use one of their moderators?

We do not need ANY reporter.

We DO NEED a professional moderator who does not get into gotcha questions.

The reason this happens every single time is the Commission on Presidential Debates picks them.

There are two top dogs. One is a Democrat. The other is Frank J. Fahrenkopf, who was RNC Chairman back during the Reagan era.

Now Frank is probably a pretty good guy but he ended up affiliated closely with Hogan & Hartson, and that takes you to the old Williams and Connelly crowd (and all these lawyers hang around from each other in these corporate daisy chain operations in DC), and when you get to them you find GREG CRAIG!!!!

He's Fidel Castro's lawyer. He's the guy who made sure Elien got sent back to Cuba.

Frankly ~ and let me say that again ~ QUITE Frankly, I don't think Frank Fahrenkopf is representing the interests of the American people very well at all.

From what I see the HARD LEFT with its bullet to the back of the head style is too influential in this process.

Romney, if he didn't already know the outcome planned for him in this election, would be wise to BACK OUT OF ALL THE DEBATES!

Sarah Palin for Moderator!

I think that might be a perfect example to a leftist of what we face every four years when we watch the debates.

Great post!

If the republican candidates were stupid enough to agree to PBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC, then they deserve our silence and not our support.

I’m sick of stupid with the stupid party.

With all due respect, coming from a voter for Virgil whathisname (heck, just check the box for Bambi) in a swing state, that’s quite a charge......
