Obama’s Ungodly Policies Risk Black Christian Votes
The Christian Diarist ^ | September 8, 2012 | JP

Posted on 09/08/2012 3:27:38 PM PDT by CHRISTIAN DIARIST

Once upon a time, I wrote a newspaper column while onsite at a Democratic National Convention.

I opined that, “It really doesn’t matter who the Democrats nominate as their party standard-bearer – Bill Clinton, David Duke or a loaf of bread – black voters will blindly support him (or it).”

Indeed, blacks have gone overwhelming Democrat since the 1932 presidential election, when Franklin Roosevelt captured 71 percent of the black vote.

Given that history, most political observers expect the same outcome when black voters go to the polls this upcoming November. Especially since one of their own is running for a second term in the White House.

Well, I have a different view. While I expect that the majority of blacks will indeed cast their ballots for Barack Obama, I seriously doubt he will capture 96 percent of the black vote this time around.

That’s because a certain segment of the black population – socially conservative, church-going Christians – are none too pleased with the ungodly positions the president has taken on such issues as same-sex marriage and abortion.

Indeed, the 1,300-member Coalition of African-American Pastors is currently circulating a petition among their church congregations encouraging Obama to reconsider his election-year support for same-sex couplings.

“By embracing gay marriage,” said Rev. William Owens, the Coalition’s president, “President Obama is leading the country down an immoral path. Some things are bigger than the next election.”

Then there’s the National Black ProLife Coalition, a network of pro-life and pro-family organizations. It points out that abortion is the leading cause of death for blacks.

And that Democrat-aligned Planned Parenthood, whose president got podium time at the Democrat convention in Charlotte, is most responsible for the yearly slaughter of pre-born black babies.

“We’re calling out black leaders,” the Coalition declares, “who align themselves with the destructive eugenic force of Planned Parenthood.” That includes Obama, who has sold his soul to the abortion-industrial complex.

So, while a majority of black voters almost certainly will line up behind Obama again – despite the immoral path down which he has led this nation, as Rev. Owens lamented, those that place God above political party, above racial hegemony, will vote not to return him to the White House.

That's the current trend ~ exactly what I said, you only need two points ~ PLUS ~ it's been going up at a regular clip win or not ~ then that?

The probability for further decline is exceedingly high ~ that's why I haven't been able to imagine any rationale for Republican party operatives to DISCOURAGE Republican voters this year?

Do they want to guarantee a loss or what.

The problem with discussing the vote based on percentages of a "colored" block of voters is that Percentages don't tell you who many voters came out to vote in a community....

Here's and example:

96 black votes out of 100 blacks who come out to vote still equals 96%

BUT

48 votes out of 50 blacks who come out to vote is also 96%

The key is really the number of black voters who actually bother to come out to vote this time around.

Obama could torch black churches and burn crosses on their lawns and it wouldn't make the least bit of dent in his support among the blacks.

Word. {fist bump}

I don't think is is entirely about race. Most American Blacks vote Democrat because they have bought the lies of the Democrats that only the Democrats really care about Blacks and civil rights while Republicans hate them. But when it comes to Obama and the Black community, it is “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. He is a “brother”. So they are sticking with him despite anything that goes against their personal values.

I guess it had nothing to do with actually lynching them after they were freed, did it....

One data point is not a significant basis on which to draw any meaningful conclusions.

By that logic then Reagan would have had no shot in 1980, because the *gasp* trend of 1976 as a sharp decline from 1972.

Now is the job in front of Romney/Ryan hard? Of course it is. I have no illusions about how difficult winning this election is going to be. Simply because the number of people on the government feeding trough continues to grow. This might be the last chance to stop it, because if Obama is elected, the looters and parasites will become an ensconced majority by 2016.

This is why anyone who is sitting out of this election because Romney is “only the lesser or two evils* is nuts.

Sometimes I think this all started when the Northern Carpet baggers promised them all 40 Acres and a Mule....

In fairness to the REPUBLICAN "carpetbaggers", it must be said that 40 acres and a mule would have been just reparations: TO ACTUAL EX-SLAVES.... from the estates and pockets of ACTUAL SLAVEOWNERS (not random innocent whites born a century later who mostly aren't even descended from slaveowners).

Also, it would have created a large selfsufficient black middle class that would likely be voting GOP to this day.

Alas, the DEMOCRATS stopped the REPUBLICAN reparations plan... consigning a lot of blacks to sharecropperhood at the hands of "Boss Hogg" DEMOCRATS (a fate shared by many poor whites, but that's another story.)

That had more to do with Nathan Bedford Forrest than being promised free stuff for being free....

The lynchings you speak of may influence them still but we're suppose to be talking about Good Christians here, so where does the forgiveness and healing begin? When they get enough free stuff?

Or should I have to pay reparations to a group of people who I can personally point to my bloodline and prove that my blood relatives actually shed their's (from Kentucky no less) for the union side, and ultimately, according to Lincoln, for them.

No.... the 40 acres and a mule promise by the Carpet baggers......that was the first begins that I can think of off-hand where people were attempting to find a way to influence them by buying them off.

1st Samuel 8:6-20

But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do." Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.

He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers.

He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. Your menservants and maidservants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.

When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the Lord will not answer you in that day." But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."

The modern day parallel could not be more obvious:

Give us a Liberal/Socialist King (Obama) that we may be like all those other nice European nations.

And note well the consequences: Excessive taxation, drafting sons and daughters into national service (only a matter of time), property seizures, officials fattening off the production of the people, and eventually the people becoming his slaves, are the inevitable result!!!!

I never thought I'd live to see the day, that 96% of black Americans would vote for slavery. Why did my Union army forefathers bother to volunteer?

That’s because a certain segment of the black population – socially conservative, church-going Christians

And what percentage does this "certain segment" comprise? Not one that statistically matters, I warrant. There are millions upon millions of single mother/multiple child "families" who are church-goers that believe Obamalamadingdong and the Democrat Party are the earthly equivalent to God Himself.

Thank you first for your clarifiction regarding who did what....and I can agree with some of your points and am in no way a history major or teacher for that matter.

In regards to Republican or Democrat, I wasn't making my "statement of curiousity in regards to the 40 acres and a mule" in that context...

....just that it was the first time I can think of where someone (Republican or Democrat) promised them something for free.

BTW, no one knows for sure that if the freed black community had been give free land that they would have become a self sufficient middle class today.... this is all based on assumptions towards a future that was unknown back then.

Men like Nathan Bedford Forrest were still standing in the way also.

Republicans never sealed the promise of freedom for the black community until 1965 but it was the Kennedy's (Jack and Bobby) that started sending the Government down to finish the job, even though most Democrats voted against the 1965 Act. The black community moved to the Democratic column primarily because of the Kennedy's.

Don’t leap to an inference I didn’t make ~ I didn’t say Romney would lose ~ I said this campaign is actually a lot tougher than he and his running dog lackeys imagined ~ they’re just now figuring out what a 10 million vote advantage means.

Blacks used to be Republican until somewhere around the 1920s or so. They had distinct memories of the Republican President Abraham Lincoln and his Emancipation Proclamation.

Frederick Douglass was a Republican and even made a speech at Hillsdale College.

Honestly, having worked in a campaign, that people who work in campaigns takes things a lot more seriously than the layman. They eat and sleep this stuff, they worry about everything, they are on pins and needles even when they are up by double digit in the polls. I seriously doubt they are going into this with rose-color glasses.

Blacks were republican until the 1936 election, they went from being a permanently typical 71% or so republican vote in 1932, to suddenly flipping into the permanent, overwhelming democrat vote in 1936.

The flip was instant, and it was a total reversal, no trackable changes, no gradual growth, no slow erosion, just an instant flip.

Thanks, I wasn't sure of the exact date.

They really liked "Honest Abe."
