JIMMY CARTER, TED KENNEDY AND SIGNS OF DEMOCRAT DEFEAT AT THE DNC

I know that most of you fear that our nation is on the wrong course. But I pledge to you today that in my second term I'll stay the course and stick to the plan. There is no hope in change.

During the 2008 election John McCain warned the nation (as many of us did) that a Barack Obama presidency would be the second term of Jimmy Carter; that it would be a rudderless administration unable to govern or lead misdirecting the country into economic distress, military and strategic decline and international turmoil. And so it has been. With 23 million Americans lacking full time work and GDP growth under 2%, with exploding deficits and debt and US embassies attacked and diplomats killed across the burning Middle East Obama clearly is the weakest, worst and most feckless president since Jimmy Carter.

IS MITT THE NEXT BOB DOLE?

But will Obama share Jimmy Carter's fate and be a failed one term president defeated by Mitt Romney like Reagan beat Carter in 1980? The Mainstream Obama Media says no. They say that 2012 won't be 1980 redux; that Obama is following the path of Bill Clinton to a second term (like he followed his speech at the DNC); that the brilliant, smashing Democrat convention was the turning point; and that Obama's sudden "surge" in the polls point to Mitt Romney being the next Bob Dole. But I strongly disagree for reasons I explained yesterday (see); and because of the signs that I saw at the DNC pointing beyond appearances and lies to a Reagan-like victory for Mitt Romney-or perhaps the most significant GOP win since Lincoln in 1860 (see below). Here's what I mean:

THE TRIBUTE TO TED

Beginning on the ill-omened day of September 4th, the anniversary of John McCain's RNC acceptance speech (the loser of the 08 race) a video tribute was paid to Ted Kennedy (see) , Barack Obama's friend, mentor and kingmaker- whose collapse from a LEFT-sided brain tumor at the inaugural foreshadowed the collapse of his leftist schemes to transform America into a cradle to grave utopian entitlement dream. Used to bash Mitt Romney (who Kennedy defeated in a senatorial race) the video ominously showed the late senator giving his speech at the 1980 Democrat convention where he said "we must continue the dream." This wasn't an auspicious sign for Obama since 1980 was the year Reagan beat Carter in an unexpected landslide turning all the polls (especially these) into fodder.

JIMMY SPEAKS

Then later that evening low and behold the "worthless one" himself, Jimmy Carter appeared addressing the convention in an utterly boring video speech where nothing memorable was said. Oddly, and perhaps ominously for Obama, Carter's address was preceded by Joyce Beatty, former Democrat member of the Ohio House of Representatives. The 62 year old Ms Beatty was born March 12, 1950 on the day Mitt Romney celebrated his 3rd birthday* (see). In other words, a speaker who was born on Mitt Romney's birthday preceding the speech by the last one term Democrat president is a hopeful sign that two terms of Carter (one worse than the other) are more than the public can bear-and that there won't be a third term to plague us next year as Americans want "Peace Through Strength," and economic renewal, prosperity and national success.

*Mitt Romney was born March 12, 1947.

OBAMA SPEAKS

But there were other signs at the DNC suggesting that Obama has a rendezvous with defeat, and that he'll soon be joining the hapless Jimmy Carter in the One Term Presidents' Club on Election Day.

For on the convention's third and final day when Obama gave his awful, empty, desperate speech Rush Limbaugh noted that parts of it seemed to eerily copy and channel Jimmy Carter's 1980 DNC speech (see). Take the following example:

CARTER 1980: This election is a stark choice between two men, two parties, two sharply different pictures of what America is and what the world is, but it's more than that. It's a choice between two futures.

OBAMA: The choice you face won't just be between two candidates or two parties. It will be a choice between two different paths for America, a choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future.

There was just too much Jimmy Carter and 1980 at the DNC to prognosticate success for Obama on Election Day. But there is more, and this is the grandest sign of all:

CARDINAL TIMOTHY DOLAN

Then came a sign that was virtually from Heaven that Mitt Romney will be the victor in November giving Obama a Jimmy Carter-like Ronald Reagan shellacking. For after Obama's Carter-like speech Cardinal Timothy Dolan (who is up in arms against Obama's war on the Catholic Church over religious freedom) gave the benediction to bless the convention*. What did this have to do with Ronald Reagan you say? On the day Timothy Dolan was happily born Reagan was celebrating his 39th birthday*.

*Dolan also blessed the GOP convention after Romney's speech.

*Reagan was born February 6, 1911, Dolan February 6, 1950.

Postscript I: 1106 Days And The Tribute To Ted Kennedy

When the tribute to Ted Kennedy was given at the DNC which showed a clip from his 1980 speech (a sign of defeat for Obama in November) it was exactly 1106 days from his death three summer's before*. This number gives us the date 11-06 the month and day of Election Day; and when multiplied by 182 it generates the number 201292 completing the date of Election Day with the year 2012.

*Kennedy died August 25, 2009.

But can't this be construed as a propitious sign for Barack Obama that Election Day will be his to win? Perhaps, except for one bad political sign for him: Calvin Coolidge, a great conservative small government president. For as Kennedy, like Governor Romney, was a politician from Massachusetts, and the last and only GOP governor from that state to win a presidential race was Coolidge, when we multiply 1106 by 174 the number it gives us is 192444 which is encoded with the year Cool Cal won his first and only presidential race. That's an auspicious sign for Romney that on 11-06-2012 he and Paul Ryan rule the day.

Postscript II: 61 Days To Novermber 6th

When Obama gave his DNC speech it was 61 days to Election Day, another numeric sign pointing to defeat on November 6th. For the first Republican presidential candidate to win an election on that date was Abraham Lincoln in 1860; and when 61 is multiplied by 305 it gives us that epoch making year:

61x305 = 18605

NOVEMBER 6TH

Moreover, as I noted to Jean on Monday, starting with Lincoln, the nation's first Republican President, every presidential contest falling on November 6th has been taken by the GOP candidate. And to date there have been six:

Lincoln 1860

Harrison 1888

McKinley 1900

Hoover 1928

Eisenhower 1956

Reagan 1984 And among these six Benjamin Harrison and Ronald Reagan were the only GOP candidates ever to defeat incumbent Democrat presidents. Will Mitt Romney, the 70th governor of Massachusetts, be the 7th straight GOP candidate to win on November 6th*, and be the third to defeat an incumbent Democrat president? I think you will agree it looks remarkably good for him.

I am of the opinion that 0bama will suffer the largest defeat ever by an incumbent president running for reelection.

Well a video of McCain making those predictions would be a pretty powerful tool in this election effort.

I think Romney still has a good shot at winning, and Obama’s lead in the polls isn’t nearly as great as some are claiming.

That said, I maintain this will be a squeaker more akin to 2004 than anything like 1980. As much as I wish it were otherwise, the key elements that made 1980 such a GOP blowout aren’t present today.

I *do* think, however, we may well see some very 1980s-esque gains in Congress.

OK after all that stuff and nonsense, I still have to ask, what does the number 305 have to do with the price of beans in China?
