Obama Scales Election Night Rally Way Down

President Barack Obama will hold his election-night rally indoors this year instead of trying to recreate 2008's Grant Park event. While sources cite weather and security as the reason for the change, it's more likely that, win or lose, a mostly full convention center will look better for Team Obama than a mostly empty outdoor venue.

On the night of November 4, 2008, an estimated 240,000 people inspired by the promise of hope and change filled Chicago's Grant Park to celebrate Mr. Obama's historic win. A virtual sea of cheering, crying supporters stood in front of the glittering city skyline as the brand new president-elect called for "a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder."

Now after four years of President Obama's failed policies, that new spirit of patriotism has been exposed as class warfare, service and responsibility turned out to be nothing more than fail and blame and 23 million Americans who desperately want to work hard are unemployed or underemployed.

Not hard at all to figure out why this time Mr. Obama has chosen the 18,000 seat McCormick Place Convention Center to either celebrate that he has conned the American people into four more years of failure or to depart the national stage as quietly as possible.

His election night venue looks more like a last days bunker. The mentally ill Manic in Chief will not want the general public to see him face the greatest defeat of his life. He will probably have to be put on some sort of watch to keep him from doing himself harm

I agree. This guy has ridden the Affirmative Action elevator all the way to the penthouse. This would be the first significant defeat in his half-century on Earth. I doubt he has the psychological wherewithal to deal with it.

They’ll need to hold the event in a room in a “Microtel” to make it look busy. Even then, they’ll have to hand out 10’s at the “Waffle House” across the street to get enough people.

While I’m sure that he would like to have a 2nd term, I also believe that even if he doesn’t win he’ll feel good about his 4 years because he was able to get Obembacare passed which was his ‘baby’, knowing that freebies have never been repealed and won’t expect Obembacare to be repealed in totality. It’s a ‘win’ in his eyes.

My biggest fear is the period between 7 November 2012 and 20 January 2013.

Obama is a lame duck and he's got nothing to lose. Who's going to stop him? The Congress? The Courts? Fat chance.
