AP on Benghazi attack: 150 gunmen involved, arrived in Ansar al-Sharia trucks

The highest estimate I’d seen before this of the number of attackers was 40. Read this piece and think about not only how many people were involved but how organized and deliberate they were, particularly in setting up roadblocks before making their move. Then think about Chris Stevens and the skeleton crew of unarmed Libyan guards that State left him with trying to repel something of this magnitude. This explains why a Spectre gunship might have been needed: There were a lot of jihadis swarming the consulate that night.

The AP spoke to five Libyan witnesses. No one saw any protest about the movie before the attack, but one of them did see Ansar al-Sharia using the movie as a bit of attack theater...

CBS reported on Sept. 13th that it was Ansar al Sharia and that they are an offshoot of al Qaeda.

I notice no one has written on a part of the original Fox News article that got missed by apparently everyone.

There were 3 terrorist caught by those in the CIA compound. They were ordered to turn them over to Libyan authorities and have now disappeared.

I have not seen anything on this since.

I agree and believe there was even more involved. There has been a threat to cut further Egyptian aid. My theory is Morsi was going to "heroically" free our kidnapped Ambassador. Out of gratitude totus would arrange a humanitarian turnover of the blind Sheik.

Part of the plan was also the release of the fake movie and an attack on the first amendment. This was all preplanned to fall before the election. I can not get my mind behind all the high crimes and treason committed by this administration.

I wonder what's going to have to happen for Americans to realize that Muslims aren't our friends and we just need to get medieval on their sorry a*ses...if an Ambassador gets killed in Benghazi, pull our people out, and then make it so there is a smoldering crater for a 1 mile radius from where he was killed.

I hate to say this, and God, I pray it doesn't happen, but I really do think now it may take some type of nuclear attack like a dirty bomb or something for people to get it and finally deal with them like the vermin they are. I hate that its the case, but thats the only thing I can think of that can still put people into a state where they realize its kill or be killed with these animals.

Doesn’t add up - ambassador was already gone and they murdered him, didn’t keep him alive. I guess that part might have gone awry, perhaps.

I think the simplest explanation is best — the WH or Panetta gave the stand down order to sacrifice our guys for Libyans.
