I heard that and thought it was a loser strategy and guess what? I wuz right.

They should have stuck with a more controversial right winger, who at least had a vision for America and a plan to get there.

Yep. I actually feel like I went through the 5 stages of grief.

Denial went by super fast when Romney didn't wait a full hour before conceding. Anger lasted a few days. (I almost pushed a large Home Depot flatbed dolly loaded with concrete into a Mexican woman because she tried to cut in line, and pretended not to hear me. But she was more agile than she looked and she avoided injury.)

Bargaining was over when I realized Issa isn't going to be able to get anyone to testify much less discover grounds for impeachment. I was definitely depressed for a few days but its not really my nature to mope around when there is work to do.

So now I'm in the acceptance phase. I accept that we have 4 more years with this commie psychopath at the helm of our fine ship. I am sure he intends on steering us straight into every rock along the way until we are sunk. I will just continue to collect my life preservers and wait.

Anyone know a reputable gold seller? I guess I'm looking for gold buffaloes or maple leaves. Everything looks to be right at $50 bucks over the spot price per ounce. Is that about right?

Gold is too expensive. Impossible to sell without generating an information return to the IRS. Buy silver in 1 oz. chunks, worth about $35. You can sell them without becoming the recipient of an IRS notification of a taxable transaction.

Even better, buy a bunch of 90% silver mercury or Roosevelt dimes, use them to pay for meals with savvy restauranteurs.

Mercury dimes are better, in my opinion, because the waitress or cashier does not see them often, and is more easily convinced they are more valuable than a 1990 or 2000 Roosevelt dime he or she sees everyday.

This is very valuable in its use for tips for waitresses. (Be sure to explain to them that they can take them to their local coin/precious metal dealers and exchange for 25-30 times face value, and only have to report a $.10 tip to the IRS.)

Otherwise, you might get forked in a kidney on your way out of the restaurant. Silver coins are still legal tender.

Legally, the waitress is required to report the profit on the conversion of her dime to “Federal reserve notes”, but after you have explained this to him/her, You are not legally required to be sure he/she does so. Where can you find silver coins? If you can't figure this out, buy a TV.

Quite a bit of that was the Mormon factor.

It doesn't matter what the factor was--look at the big pic. Some states were in the bag for Romney, just as some states were in the bag for 0bama. Why would either candidate spend $$ where there was no legitimate need? That's not hinky, that's sound business decision-making.

If you want to know how R/R's money was spent, look at the swing states.

I am referring to the national ad buys, not the local/state buys. For example, Monday Night Football, both games in the 2 weeks before the vote I was seeing Obozo’s ugly mug up there 2 to 3 times each game. No Romney ads.

Supposedly Romney raised just as much or more than Obozo, and I was seeing plenty of Obozo ads (even in Idaho, a state he had no chance in), but very seldom a Romney ad.

And if he was spending just on local buys in the swing states, a fat lot of good that did him.

All I know is that niot one of us knew where all that money they raised went. Hundred Million a month went where?

No ads in most states, no GOTV efforts, some weird computer program only a few knew about.

In the last week before the election I kept expecting to start seeing a lot of Romney ads on nationally broadcast programs but it never happened.

Obozo, on the other hand, you could not escape his ads no matter where you turned.

Think about it - I have not heard one person on this site EVER say they saw a lot of romney ads on TV.

Heard nothing on radio, nothing on tv, zero.

No interviews on Rush or Levin or Savage. Scant interviews on other media outlets.

I volunteered and the entire campaign seemed like a shell game. All I got were endless fundraising emails when I inquired where to go what to do, etc.

All i know is that every campaign I ever worked on there was $$$$ for the volunteers to get things done. Heck - even McCains’ team paid for some stuff for the legal team. 2004 we were treated like kings.

This year? The entire campaign was like a shell game and facade and all smoke and mirrors.

I’m not kidding. Every time I tried to inquire to find out where to go what to do who to contact - all i got were fundraising emails.

I’m not alone and other lawyers trying to be on the fraud alert teams got dealt w the same way.

It all seems like a giant ponzi scam in the end TBH

It is time to stop the blame game: blame Romney, blame the Paul supporters, blame those who did not bother to vote, blame corrupt Democrat urban political machines, ad nauseam.

The problem is not in our stars but in ourselves. There are some questions that need resolving:

* Why did Romney receive fewer votes than McCain although the former Massachusetts governor was better funded and a better campaigner? Both men come from the moderate wing of the GOP.

* Why Jews and Asian-Americans, among the most prosperous groups in America, vote for Democrats (both at about 70%) when it is against their financial self-interest. Considering Obama is no friend of Israel and Romney would have been a strong supporter of that nation, you have to wonder about the dedication of American Jews to their ancestral homeland. Given the tension between blacks and Asians, it is also puzzling why some 70% of Asians would align with a black President.

*Why suburban counties in the Boston-Washington corridor, along the Great Lakes, Denver, and the California cities are Democrat now, while having been solidly Republican 30 years ago. On the other hand, the suburban counties close to Interstate 70 (Pittsburgh to Kansas City)and southward to Interstate 10 (Jacksonville to San Antonio) voted Republican;

* Why state Republican parties in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania refuse to challenge vote counts in the major cities? Is Allen West the only Republican with courage enough to challenge possible vote fraud?

Romney won my state with 60% (in the bag) and there were STILL TONS of Romney ads and campaigning going on.

And Romney spent less time in some of the swing states than he should have.

Question for you. I know there is a period of dismantling a campaign (I’ve worked on a few), but I never had a campaign credit card. I read that Romney’s campaign cut the credit cards off for staff after the concession speech so staffers couldn’t even use them to get back to the hotel.

Does that sound normal to you?

I’m talking about basic stuff - for example 2000, 2004, 2008 GOP paid for the lawyers to go to swing states to man canvassing boards etc. nothing big, but just some little $$$ to cover travel. Many of us spent a week in another state only having travel covered.

This year - NOTHING AT ALL!

Romney is raising $100 a million a month and can’t cover travel for legal team who are taking time off and volunteering a week ? GMAFB.

Or at least tell them so they didn’t find out when it was declined.
