I don’t have that on my cable line up. Makes me nostalgic, use to watch that show with my daddy when I was a small child.

I don’t remember the show revealing that he was a pimp and a saloon owner. He did seem to support gun control-it had endless opportunities for corruption.
I don’t see that on my guide
If it helps mine is on Directv ch. 538...Yippie-yo-Kie-yeaaa..
Wait, I see it online for Encore network
Found it on my guide on the Encore Western Channel (not HD of course). It’s right after HGWT.
I used to watch it and it was entertaining but pretty ridiculous at times.
Hugh O’Brien was fairly conservative except he pushed gun control very strongly.
I recall one particularly stupid episode where Wyatt kept having to bail out the Texas Rangers.
Haven’t seen it, but watch Bat Masterson with Gene Berry on Hulu with kids.
IIRC, the Earps were Republicans and the Clantons were Democrats.
Let’s see. IIRC, Hugh O’Brian was tall and slim, wore a flat brim black stetson and carried a Buntline Special (With which he slapped bad guys around. I think the show was set in Wichita, KS but it might have been Dodge City. It bore almost no relation to reality.
“Wyatt Earp
Wyatt Earp
Brave, Courageous and Bold
Long live his fame
and long live his glory
and long may his story be told”
If memory serves.
Loved that show when I was a kid.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one. I’ll try to find it.
Possibly the best western movie ever made.
HGWT has Robert Blake (Tony Baretta) as a young thug. Art imitates life.
Please watch it...My Darling Clementine is a 1946 western directed by John Ford. It features Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, Victor Mature, Walter Brennan.- Watch for the head of the Clanton gang, [Walter Brennan] ask Earp, [Fonda] what he was going to do after his herd has been stolen,... ‘going back to cow punching?...Nope says Earp, ‘got me a new job...Marshaling”..
It was a pretty decent series, albeit somewhat ‘starchy’ compared to some of the other classic western shows. Some of the narration made it seem a bit more dated at times. But, it was a little unique in how the episodes had a sort of semi ‘soap opera’ type of continuity.
Star Hugh O’Brian had an interesting history in that he was the youngest Marine DI in WW2. He’s still around, but getting up in years. I briefly met him a couple of times. I do have a “best of” dvd-set of the Wyatt Earp series that came out a few years ago, which offered a pretty nice overview.
