Scandalanche
Vanity ^ | 10 June 2013 | Windflier

I've been seeing a lot of theories lately about the veritable avalanche of scandals dropping from the Obama administration. Some posit that the administration itself is leaking these blockbuster revelations in order to push more damaging scandals off the front page, and off the public's radar.

I'm not so sure, although poster txhurl offered one of the better theories I've seen, on another thread tonight.

He posits that Camp Hillary may be behind these leaks, as no one but her could benefit as much by getting the Benghazi scandal off the front pages, and off the public's radar.

Possible -- possible...but, let us not forget that some of what's coming out, casts a severely negative light on her tenure as SofS. Are we seeing an internal political war, using scandalous leaks as missiles? Perhaps, but I'm not convinced that's the case.

In my view, there's every possibility that it could have started that way, but it's spiraled out of control, and like a box of firecrackers going off one by one, it's taken on a life of its own. One points a finger at this one, who then causes a counter leak in retaliation, which injures a third and fourth party, who then fire their own fusillades of return fire, which then lights up a battery in a wholly different branch of government, which then causes all sorts of apparatchiks to run for cover while taking their files and hard drives as insurance against attack....ad infinitum.

In my view, the regime isn't leaking these damaging scandals on purpose. I believe we're witnessing the Great Unraveling....the wheels coming off the bus...the rats jumping ship....in short, a full blown meltdown of concentrated evil such as this country has never seen before.

It's the Scandalanche.

I think it’s nothing more than incompetence finally getting exposed. I’ve seen a similar pattern in Beijing. Incompetence of State-owned Enterprises in China continues to run smoothly until a negative story appears in the Western media. Then high-level Beijing officials go into cover-up mode trying to hide other scandals. But then to avoid responsibility they start searching for scapegoats and blame low-level employees for problems. Then low-level officials respond by saying I was just taking orders and then they start leaking stories too. That’s what happens when everyone you employ is a snake.

we need a good scandal involving the press so they get outed.

There's already plenty there to hang them on, if someone were to tie it all together and make the case. I don't know how many reports I've seen about media folks being cowed and even threatened by this regime.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

The obvious choice is that this is a Cloward-Piven strategy.

He’s knocked the legs out from under everything we’ve ever believed in, or trusted.

It’s about destroying religion (attacks on Israel, and against Catholics via ObamaCare); undermining of the Supreme Court as arbiter of law; State Department scandals; ruining the automakers; demonizing wealthy and successful people; ruining the integrity of the IRS, the medical industry; demoralizing the military, security and intelligence agencies; calling into question the integrity of the judicial system with things like the Trayvon case; helping our enemies abroad (Egypt, Libya, Iran, Syrian ‘rebels’).

He promised to transform America.

He didn’t say you’d like it.

I think we on the right can be myopic. What we consider scandalous, the leftists do not. It’s not about Benghazi. It is a few people who got fed up, and so others are feeling braver to spill the beans, and also Obama is a lame duck, and the media is concerned more with preparing the way for 2016. The past few weeks have been unprecedented for Obama. He has never seen this many negative stories in the liberal MSM.

I agree it’s out of control. But that too could well be the idea. Unleash total chaos and then ride in with an obamacare omnibus solution to save the day. Never let a good dozen scandals go to waste!

If that's the master plan, it's about the worst one I think I've ever heard of. This avalanche of scandals is weakening the credibility of the regime in the eyes of people who've (until now) held out Hope that Obama would still bring the Change he promised, and that they voted for.

I don't believe his useful idiots hate the country like he does. They hired him because they thought he'd usher in a 'better' America. They really did buy into that fantasy. Now that they see what damage he and his administration are wreaking to the foundational pillars of their country and their very lives, a lot of them are growing cold, if not outraged.

In short, he's destroying his support amongst those who've propped him up the previous five years. This can't end well for him.

I think they've clearly lost control, and are headed into bunker mode. These scandals are some of the most egregious violations of the public trust we've seen in our lifetimes. Forget comparisons to Watergate. We need a new word to describe it, which is why I dreamed up the term, Scandalanche tonight.

Yep. Cornered Rats can get vicious. Lots of folks might get bit and scratched and much worse.

The fact remains, some major house-cleaning is long over-due in both parties.

Jay Sekulo from american center for law and justice just brought up an excellent point- Dear leader will NOT say we are in a war on terrorists, yet her turns aroudn and exherts his war powers to spy on Americans- He won’t use them to spy on terrorists, but he certainly will use them to spy on his ‘Enemies’- Meaning Us- which he has called American citizens over and over again-

Well, you have to take each scandal case by case. The NSA PRISM bullsh*t is from neither party. Some guy from within decided to bust that one out.

Benghazigate
IRSgate
APRosengate
Verizongate
PRISMgate

and now the State Dept. employing rapists and whore-seekers. If any of the above scandals were pushed by Hillary trying to get Benghazi off the front page, then I am betting this latest revelation is Obama’s retaliation. Hillary ran the State Dept. like a frat house.

I think it’s no coincidence that there’s a Department of State scandal dump in the midst of the Obama scandalanche. For Hillary, all this talk of prostitution and cover-up and other State Department improprieties will be “old news” when she declares herself a candidate.

It may be a two-parter: IRS and AP scandals was leaked out by the administration to distract from the BIG ONE - Benghazi. However alot of the other scandals looks like elements within the government, namely CIA guys were pissed off by Obama or those who just still love the country who dont like what they see and want Obama out and so they are just week after week releasing damaging stuff and eventually will bring whatever the darkest secret out in the end that people will be so overwhelmed by this administration that people will have to go

Demoralization
Destabilization
Crisis
Normalization

Sounds like it is in play.

That was my first thought when the NSA stuff started dribbling out last week.

I'm hoping there are some, at least a few patriots, left in the government.

I agree with everything you said, except that everything else is boring.

The power and might of the IRS was used to cow and suppress the perceived political enemies of the regime. Any dingbat liberal with two brain cells to rub together can figure out that when the Republicans are up to bat, they could do the same thing to them.

The DOJ's spying on the AP had to send a chill down the spines of every liberal, who quietly understand that the media is the de facto propaganda wing of the Democrat party.

A lot of libs have served in the military and other government services. How do you think they felt about our Ambassador and our military guys being left to die in Benghazi? I can guarantee you, that that incident jerked some of them back to reality.

And what about all of the sputtering and shirking of responsibility coming out of the White House recently? Obama hasn't even been able to blame George Bush or the Republicans during this onslaught of revelations. Do you not think that some libs are disillusioned and demoralized by their Deal Fuhrer's inability to "get to the bottom of this", or kick ass and take names on the guilty parties? Do you not think that a lot of them are sitting there stunned by the continuing deluge of scandal after scandal?

I think all of this is having a cumulative effect on not just us, but everyone in the country.

"These scandals are some of the most egregious violations of the public trust we’ve seen in our lifetimes."

In our lifetimes? Try history of the world and it’s all happened on the Magic Negroe’s watch.

Agreed.

That's all part of his master plan. These scandals are too.

What I am waiting for is yet another leak, that being there are firm plans in place to declare martial law.

The "securing" of American cities will start shortly thereafter (and, no, I do not wear tinfoil on my head).
