Sorry for the vanity post but I am just so excited to announce that my husband accepted a promotion in West Texas and we will be leaving liberal California at the end of August. God answered our prayers! We have been trying to leave for almost a year. My amazing husband leaves in nine days and the kids and I follow in a month. My seven year old asked if in Texas they wear their baseball caps the right way....enough said!
Congratulations from someone who just moved from hellhole Illinois to sunny Florida! I’m also excited that my vote will count for something now! I bet you will feel like you came to a different planet!
I wish you and your husband well in your new saner location and in his job. Be extra thankful if you have children.
That state is the penultimate example of liberal idiocy second only to this country having elected (twice) such an obvious tyrant.
Congrats!..first thing you should do now is change your FR st ate registration..
Best Wishes!
West Texas. The oil industry I presume?
Congratulations!! For all current and retired CA state employees, we’ll miss your contributions...:)
Good luck and God Bless-and I’m a California native born long ago when California was a beautiful place.

Welcome to Texas! Been here 25 years, don't plan on ever leaving.
Congratulations!
Soon to follow to SC.
Our relative paradises await.
Congratulations and blessings, wish I could join you.
Good for you and your family.
I grew up in west Texas and loved it.
Good for you! I’m still stuck here in California for at least another year while younger kid finishes high school, but as soon as she’s done I’ve got Texas as one of my top choices for relocation.
May your move bring much happiness, contentment and success to your family.
Don’t let the first sandstorm dissuade you. They do end.
Goatheads (stickers), horned toads. They take some getting used to.
West Texas, or West, Texas? Sorry, an old joke. I presume it's the former.
The landscape and climate in West Texas can be a bit bleak. But, there are some great opportunities here, and there is plenty of places to visit with a day's driving: the Hill Country, the Gulf Coast, the Piney Woods.
In Texas, they don't wear baseball caps, they wear cowboy hats!
Good for you!
