Boehner's Shutdown End-game play (you won't like it)

This failure of an option B has set the stage for Bohners end game, very much like what happened early this year with taxes.

Reid Slams New House GOP Debt Limit Offer (Hissy fit) Roll Call ^ | 10/15/13 | Meredith Shiner

House vote pulled, chaos continues Politico ^ | 10-15-13 | By JAKE SHERMAN, BURGESS EVERETT, JOHN BRESNAHAN and SEUNG

Reid will pass his ‘bipartision’ bill using a procedure that only requires 50 votes but gutting a previously passed bill. That allows lots of GOP Senators cover to vote symbolically ‘no’ with no effect.

Then that Bill goes to house and Bohner puts it up for a vote and passes it with Pelosi Dems and a few Dems like Peter King, this will give lots of GOP house members plenty of cover to vote ‘no’ with no consequence.

That Senate Bill passes in the house as is Obama and signs it. Crisis ended. GOP gets pretty close to nothing. But Congress keeps their Obamacare subsidy and all those government employees who got furloughed get paid for that extra vacation. .

Lastly, no one challenges Bohner as Speaker just like in January. He keeps his job. None of them want it.

I almost forgot, Dems go into their Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrating their great victory over GOP and the Tea Party.
GOP(nor me) , not quite as happy.

Boner raises the white flag in Victory- for Boner and the GOP. He will have saved the day for his idol.

They will still get that Obamacare subsidy.

Reid still has to get cloture before the vote. That's going to take agreement or 60 votes.

Not to mention that bills for expenditures must originate in the House.

Maybe, but its been reported that Reid will take the bill that has already been sent from house to Senate, modified by Senate and passed by the ~ 80 Senators (only 19 Senators voted no on cloture) that the house modified and sent back again, gut it again and replace it with his bipartision ‘you lose’ compromise.

In that case he will pass it with no cloture vote.

We will probably see for sure today.

Looks like Reid is seeking unanimous consent. That's isn't indicative of him gutting the previous bill.

He will have no trouble getting it passed. GOP in Senate are more scared now than they were when that prior vote took place that got 19 against.

Speaking of defeatism, last night first half hour Levin was getting his audience ready for what I posted will happen.

He spun it as a ‘constitutional crisis’.
Get this :if Obama scares the GOP in congress to passing the CR and debt limit that he demands with his dire warnings of a default(GOP calls them threats) , then that is a constitutional crisis because Obama nullified the House.

I dont understand that logic but he was clearly trying to get audience ready for the GOP white flag.

He can't get unanimous consent if Cruz is there and wants to fillibuster. One senator can block UC.

The house republican leadership are falures, as James Maddasion pointed out in federalist 58. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THIS!

The only thing holding back house republicans is their own weakened fear. As for their leaders John Boehner is perhaps the biggest failure of them all. Nobody takes him seriously least of all the democrats because he never holds the line.

The Democrats like us Predicted he would fold and simply waited until he did. All of this was just costly theater, we MUST have a new speaker, or there is not a dam thing our house can or will ever be able to do.

Zero and Reid are pushing the country toward a Constitutional crisis,”

We have to still have a Constitution for there to be a crisis surrounded it. The John leading the court just like the John Leading the house have decided that nether have any meaningful existence worth speaking of much less upholding.

” I’m sure my allegedly intelligent family members (just ask ‘em, they’ll tell you how smart they are and how stupid everyone is who disagrees with them) will be among the small but sizable group in the country who will wholeheartedly support the destruction of the Constitutional structure in favor of “paying our bills” (IOW, raising the amount that we owe in order to spend even more).”

That is perhaps the case for many of the most foolish in our civilization. Were I you I would ask them the simple question of when they will let you in on their bank accounts.

They seem to be quite busy raiding yours thou government, if we are going to “share money” then it seems they owe you quite a lot. Let their “brilliant” mind figure out what you need to break to make them pay.

lol

“Amnesty passes or Obama shuts us down harder next time.”

Its hard to believe John Boehner could be so incompetent and non-resolute as to let the democrats turn the tables on him even when he was prepared.

But I suppose having let it happen so many times before nobody least of all the democrats expected him to do anything other than fold this time as he did before. Absolutely useless.

We should all Send John Boehner a copy of Federalist 58, and insist he read James Madison words regarding the power & propose of the house to uphold the Constitution thou REFUSING spending.

Just to remind him what a miserable failure he is.(I know I sent him just such a text)

I call it the Kabuki dance, dude.

You and I agree. Bohner and McConnell let them have their sandbox fun then hours before the deadline its ‘pass Reid's bill’ once again.

Now this bill takes away the House power to stop debt limit increases.

Being cynical never loses in this game bro.
