The Global Warming Hoax Continues

As temperatures plunge to record lows over the next few days with the "polar vortex", the proponents of the global warming hoax are still pushing their radical agenda. You would think that a severe cold snap had never happened in the US before with all the hysteria associated with this cold front by the mainstream media. What is the culprit? Global warming! Well, now global warming is actually "climate change", so I guess I should stick with that. I actually have to admit to some grudging admiration to how the progressive left steadfastly sticks to their lies, refusing any tiny microbe of truth or reason to enter their sphere of thought. Temperatures remain static for over a decade, then switch gears to man-made global warming to man-made climate change with disastrous environmental effects such as more hurricanes, higher temperatures, and doom raining down upon mankind.

Yet a funny thing has happened. Global temperatures have been flat for the last fifteen years and carbon dioxide emissions have increased. (Fun fact: carbon dioxide is necessary for life as plants use it as food to create...oxygen!) Even the far left alarmists at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is a United Nations front to siphon the wealth of industrialized nations and send it to third world countries or keep it for themselves, has even acknowledged this "pause" in warming. As for hurricanes, there hasn't been an increase in hurricane activity. Yes, there's been some bad storms recently, but that has happened in the past as well before all the global warming hysteria.

Probably the most damning bit of the global warming hoax is how the IPCC and their allies plotted to falsify data to back up their claims and actually erased the base data from which they drew their conclusions. One thing to remember that concerns science: you never get rid of your base data. You may look at the data at different ways to see if you can draw a different conclusion, but the raw data is left untouched. The equivalent would be of a book reviewer burning down a library and only using his reviews of the books as hard data from then on. The reason for this raw data wipe (dubbed Climategate) was to get rid of the proof of the global warming alarmists cooking the books, so to speak.

In the perfect example of irony, a ship comprised of global warming nutters was stranded in Antarctic ice and had to be rescued. Several icebreaker ships tried to free them but were unsuccessful. The passengers were eventually rescued by helicopter and taken to a different ship. (Wonder if the rescued global warming fanatics were enraged by the helicopter and rescue ships using fossil fuels?) The facts are that Arctic ice has increased by a third in the last year and the South Pole is wider and thicker than it has been in decades. Yet the same hysteria is proclaimed.

The mainstream media and other outlets are working hand-in-hand with global warming fanatics to promote the hoax. A reddit forum won't allow skeptics to post at all (they say the debate is now more cordial, which is natural since there is only one viewpoint represented), and the LA Times won't even post letters to the editor debunking the global warming hoax. If you read the accounts of the trapped ship in the Antarctic ice, the MV Akademik Shokalskiy, you'll find very few mentions that its mission was to promote the erosion of ice due to global warming.

Why push global warming? First, there is a ton of money involved. Billions are being spent to investigate this matter and that gravy train cannot be messed with. Those who point out the flaws in the global warming mantra are marginalized and find themselves cut off from any funding. Another reason is that progressive liberals have seized this issue to bring down the Western nations, all while lining their own pockets. They'll tax and regulate our economies into the ground, but their nests will still be feathered quite nicely. As you crank up the heat tonight in your home, shake your fist at the freezing temperatures caused by global warming.....I mean climate change....or farting cows.

I wonder if global cooling would cause global warming?

From 1975...

The "Grim Realities" of Global COOLING

"The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth's climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic."

The Cooling World
Newsweek, April 28, 1975

There are ominous signs that the Earth's weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production– with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth. The drop in food output could begin quite soon, perhaps only 10 years from now. The regions destined to feel its impact are the great wheat-producing lands of Canada and the U.S.S.R. in the North, along with a number of marginally self- sufficient tropical areas – parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indochina and Indonesia – where the growing season is dependent upon the rains brought by the monsoon.

The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it. In England, farmers have seen their growing season decline by about two weeks since 1950, with a resultant overall loss in grain production estimated at up to 100,000 tons annually. During the same time, the average temperature around the equator has risen by a fraction of a degree – a fraction that in some areas can mean drought and desolation. Last April, in the most devastating outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded, 148 twisters killed more than 300 people and caused half a billion dollars' worth of damage in 13 U.S. states.

To scientists, these seemingly disparate incidents represent the advance signs of fundamental changes in the world's weather. The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth's climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic.

"A major climatic change would force economic and social adjustments on a worldwide scale," warns a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences, "because the global patterns of food production and population that have evolved are implicitly dependent on the climate of the present century."

A survey completed last year by Dr. Murray Mitchell of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reveals a drop of half a degree in average ground temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere between 1945 and 1968. According to George Kukla of Columbia University, satellite photos indicated a sudden, large increase in Northern Hemisphere snow cover in the winter of 1971-72. And a study released last month by two NOAA scientists notes that the amount of sunshine reaching the ground in the continental U.S. diminished by 1.3% between 1964 and 1972.

To the layman, the relatively small changes in temperature and sunshine can be highly misleading. Reid Bryson of the University of Wisconsin points out that the Earth's average temperature during the great Ice Ages was only about seven degrees lower than during its warmest eras – and that the present decline has taken the planet about a sixth of the way toward the Ice Age average. Others regard the cooling as a reversion to the "little ice age" conditions that brought bitter winters to much of Europe and northern America between 1600 and 1900 – years when the Thames used to freeze so solidly that Londoners roasted oxen on the ice and when iceboats sailed the Hudson River almost as far south as New York City.

Just what causes the onset of major and minor ice ages remains a mystery. "Our knowledge of the mechanisms of climatic change is at least as fragmentary as our data," concedes the National Academy of Sciences report. "Not only are the basic scientific questions largely unanswered, but in many cases we do not yet know enough to pose the key questions."

Meteorologists think that they can forecast the short-term results of the return to the norm of the last century. They begin by noting the slight drop in overall temperature that produces large numbers of pressure centers in the upper atmosphere. These break up the smooth flow of westerly winds over temperate areas. The stagnant air produced in this way causes an increase in extremes of local weather such as droughts, floods, extended dry spells, long freezes, delayed monsoons and even local temperature increases – all of which have a direct impact on food supplies.

"The world's food-producing system," warns Dr. James D. McQuigg of NOAA's Center for Climatic and Environmental Assessment, "is much more sensitive to the weather variable than it was even five years ago." Furthermore, the growth of world population and creation of new national boundaries make it impossible for starving peoples to migrate from their devastated fields, as they did during past famines.

Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve. But the scientists see few signs that government leaders anywhere are even prepared to take the simple measures of stockpiling food or of introducing the variables of climatic uncertainty into economic projections of future food supplies. The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality.

Yes IPCC and their allies wan to impose a Carbon tax on the industrial countries and distribute the proceeds to developing nations.

What it will amount to is siphoning off money from capitalist (or semi-capitalist) countries to shore up socialist depots.

It's minus 18F at the back door (thermometer pointed towards house to receive radiation from same).

It's clear and there is little wind.

It's going to be a good night to evaluate the sizing of the furnace (smaller than the previous one though it's been in service for ~20 years and never really severely tested - we had some cold nights ~23 yr ago)).

I wonder if global cooling would cause global warming?

Maybe it did. Back in the 70’s, the drumbeat was that we were going into another ice age. So that period of global cooling caused the period of global warming that's now causing the current period of global cooling; which will spawn a new period of global warming in the future. We need to tax the Sun into compliance with the computer models or we're doomed!!!

It’s been “climate change” for several years now. I expect the term “climate disruption” to become the new descriptive phrase shortly.

Sort of like LBJ’s war on poverty. I love to ask liberals about that when they start whining .... “how’s that 2-5 trillion dollar war on poverty working out .... no poverty anymore .... right”?

In reality; no. but that does not mean they are willing to give up the fight.

The US has the fattest poor people in the world. Most of our poor people have televisions, refrigerators, telephones, air-conditioning and many other luxuries.

But ask a liberal and they will tell you that poverty is rampant in this evil capitalist country.

Yes, I have found FR to be a great source and I'm thankful. A friend turned me onto the site in the past, but I never posted. Just lurked and read. The best thing about the internet is that it enables people to actually go out and dig for the real info instead of just being indoctrinated by the mainstream media.

As for global warming, the name can change but the goal of liberals is still the same: punish the West but make sure that they're doing fine themselves.

Maybe we should send a team of liberal scientists on a mission to the Sun to determine if it might have something to do with temperatures here on Earth.
