Via her verified Twitter account, CBS investigative news reporter Sharyl Attkisson announced Monday that she has resigned from CBS.

Although Politico received no comment from Attkisson other than the split was amicable, the left-wing outlet is reporting that Attkisson left due to the network's "liberal bias." This split is ahead of her contract. "She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her packages on television."

I’m betting the first call after her tweet was from Roger Ailes, announcing the contract is ready, whenever she’s ready to sign.
Ms. Attkisson has been in broadcasting a long time. Generally speaking, you don’t quit on the spur of the moment, and you try to have something lined up before you jump.
Very likely that Attkisson and her agent have been talking to Fox for some time. They may wait a few days to announce the deal, but her move to Fox is all-but-inevitable.

Attkisson is the first “mainstream” reporter to pick up the fast and furious gun-running story.
If you're into reading between the lines as I am, I think it's worth noting that the book she's writing will be published by News Corp., owner of Fox News. I think the chances of her ending up in Ailes's news harem are pretty good.

If she got an early out on her contract with CBS then it is highly likely she had to agree to a non compete clause. Typically that would be at least six months or a year before going to work for a competitor.
While I think SA is hot, and have liked her, she is tainted by being there way tooooo long. She knew better long before this incident. Good riddance. She’s still a lefty at heart.
