The word got around that cat didn’t taste that bad and in a matter of weeks you just couldn’t find any more stray cats when just a few months earlier they were all over the city. In the country, kids with slingshots and air rifles would go bird hunting so as to bring something home to throw in the pot.

I once ran across a recipe card with a collection of cat recipes; one was “Kit an’ Canary Casserole”.

If I had a pond I’d like to find a good recipe for swan before the interwebs go down. :)

I’m not sure what you are referring to. Would you be willing to amplify your remarks? How is the Paris Commune a cautionary tale?

I’ve found the condor recipe works great for swan.

I have had a compulsion the past few days to stock up on boxed Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Cheese will be difficult to have in a SHTF situation and the powdered cheese in Kraft IS cheese and tastes like cheese. But, even more than that, I saw a bunch of recipes a couple of days ago using Kraft Macaroni and Cheese with other foods in it making it a more tasty dish. I keep thinking about that, copied some of those recipes and next time I go to grocery, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is going in my basket. I have a few boxes and that is not enough.

If Kroger has their own brand of that, it will likely be cheaper and I’ll get their brand. Plus, I always pick up some kind of canned meat every trip. I’ll have canned veggies, dehydrated veggies to add to that or hopefully have some fresh veggies out of my garden to add to it.

Boxes of macaroni and cheese, here I come - now, don’t all of you go to grocery and buy it all before I get there. AND, don’t tell me cheese in the box isn’t great quality cheese - I DON’T CARE, IT IS CHEESE and that is PASTA in there and it is FOOD and will be better food with veggies and/or meat in it.

AND IT DOESN’T HAVE CAT OR DOG OR RAT IN IT. How much would a box of macaroni and cheese be worth in these countries where people can’t get food?

Heck, where I live, the deer are more plentiful than cats. I could hunt them with a claw hammer. Food in one hand and hammer in the other. When they start eating, WHACK and off to the side of the house.
