NBCs David Gregory pressed Tony Blair over the resurgence of Islamic fundamentalism worldwide, arguing that perhaps the former British prime ministers support for the Iraq War bolstered Islamic terrorism a charge Blair vehemently denied.
Blair appeared on NBCs Meet the Press Sunday to advocate for a stronger Western response to the burgeoning threat of Islamic fundamentalism in places like Syria, Yemen, Iraq and North Africa.
But Gregory pushed back. Isnt the legacy of your leadership, and that of President Bush, in part responsible for the reality today? he asked, noting that many in both the United States and Britain believe interventions in places like Iraq emboldened and inspired Islamic radicals and took resources away from the fight against al-Qaida in Afghanistan.

Somewhere in journalist heaven, Lawrence B. Spivak is steaming,, just like the noxious pile MTP has become.
David Gregory opens his mouth and proves that he has a screw loose.
David just got back from the Corporate Shrink, can't you tell.
Blame Bush will not improve his ratings, but it will secure his job.
It’s not that terrorism didn’t exist, it’s that there was an “acceptable level” of terrorism in the world. Leftists say that the level increased because we fought against it instead of just laying back and enjoying it.
I guess acceptable would mean that someone else died instead of them or their families.
Worse? How much worse could it be than 9-11?
Idiot Gregory really does need therapy.
Exactly.
The twit Gregory has achieved his goal. At least people are talking about him and his show. Any “ink” is good ink as the old saw goes.
This kind of idiocy could only come from today’s left. I told a huge lefty I used to work with that it was literally quite beyond stupid, and it would be the same as WWII era Americans wringing their hands and saying, “Oh we shouldn’t train armies, build tanks and planes and FIGHT the NAZIS, ‘cause that will just make ‘em mad at us.”
Beyond asinine.
That's like hiring a PR firm to study why no one likes stepping in dog crap.
When Bush left office we almost had the war won, even the Iranians were ready to overthrow their terror sponsoring dictators.
El-Presidente sided with the terrorists and surrendered, thus emboldening the terrorists. Now we will have to start over again. Nice job Berry!
Send him to Afghanistan.
Yes, that damn Bush invaded Afghanistan and Irag, and then those Islamists flew the planes into the Twin Towers. I’m sure that’s the way it happened. (snicker)
