It is OK if you think that government is corrupt and incompetent, I think that too.
It is OK to have weapon in your home, and will and knowledge to use it, and it is very good if you think that TV is full of crap.
I think too that S. is gonna hit the fan, and that it makes sense to have bug out location and bug out bag, and lots of cans and ammo.
So we are clear that we agree that all of the above (and lots more) make perfect sense. But one thing does not make sense and that is to let everyone else know that you are thinking like this.
Why?
Because it makes you different from (great) majority of folks around you, and what should be one of the basic and first imperatives?

It takes a certain and unjustly-confident self-'brodadoccio'(sic) to go around threads looking for chances to 'rcognize(sic) internet brodadoccio(sic)', especially on a thread of well-meaning people who wish to help one another with this topic.
They have a word for this sort of behavior: Troll. You and I have a history, in which you were trolling me on a grief- and obituary-thread, coming to conclusions you had no evidence or right to make.
You are a troll. A miserable, unhappy troll.
Why do people prep? It is an insurance policy. So is a gun. So are actual insurance policies.
If you carried your tone and demeanor to the topic of fire insurance: You would accuse a fire-insurance policy-holder of being a internet braggart, hoping for a fire, and being a wannabe-fireman.
I prep. I prep reasonably, not idiotically (blowing a lot of payroll on it). But yes, I believe in insurance policies. The SHTF-scenario may never come, I hope it doesn't -- though I cannot see how it won't, on our out-of-control Federal budget, alone.
Stop being a troll. Stop assuming you know everyone else's motivations and life stories. Stop assuming you know it ALL.
If you’d been paying attention you’d know what he’s talking about.
If you just showed-up late it’s your responsibility to get caught-up, not his.
Being a leader is lonely. Following the herd is easy.
There are scads of resources out there to start with- almost overwhelming. Get Kartographer’s manual. Great resource and it’s FREE.
Oddly I learn a lot from TEOTWOAKI shows. Falling Skies (especially the first season) is great for ideas on how to forage and move. For one their use of bicycles and motorcycles is brilliant. Another show that did great stuff was Jericho.
Do you believe someone will be looking FOR you?....LOL!
So who's gonna be watching your back? Not your neighbor with a job, a mortgage, a car payment, kids in college and the kids with the upcoming little league tournament..............but I repeat myself....LOL!
Is that how it's spelled? I'm a pretty good speller and I can't believe I typed that......... thanks
“Airtight containers. Basements tend to be damp in many places.”
I have superpails lined with mylar, for the most part. And #10 cans.
I think I’ll need to worry about rodents for the former, rust for the latter.
Any ideas?
I would if there was anything positive to bring. I've already stated the reality on many occasions and nobody, not even you, has disputed my claims..........
Shall I repost my observations?
The "revolution" will not occur as long as the "patriots" have jobs that provide for their familes, pay the mortgage on the house, pay notes on the new SUV's, the trucks, the boats and the college educations for the kids in college. The "revolution" will not occur while these same "patriots" are still shuttling their kids to and from soccer, football and little league practices and games.........
I think I'm being pretty clear and precise on my observations but if you want to call me a troll then so be it............That's a common practice by folks who can't offer legitimate agruments...........
Check your assumptions, chump. Prepping is for hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, personal disasters, civil unrest, and many, many other things.
Your cartoon view of the world speaks of your trollishness. I remember when you trolled Laz on the thread about his cat.

Replying to comments on a public forum is not considered trolling Laz. Regarding history, you really want to bring that up bro?
I'll take the gentleman's way out and leave it at that....I suggest you back off and do the same.
I don't think you really want to bring that guy into this conversation.........
Plonk.

So, SO glad that my planning and prepping lets me sleep well at night. It’s really not much beyond the way I was raised; ready for Tornadoes and Blizzards, in turn. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. :)
THANKFUL that I have my military career behind me; not much scares me (except being FORCED to live in a city. And grasshoppers scare me, LOL!) My military skills will go very, very far if need be. Even if I AM getting up there in years, I can tell the Young Bucks what needs to be done. :)
Feeling BLESSED and LUCKY that I HAVE somewhere to go, out in The Hinterlands, where I will be safe and secure should TSHTF.
Matthew 6:33,34 [From the Sermon on the Mount] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Yes, it can absolutely be. In fact, ALMOST ALL trolls post on public forums. And you are one, a troll.
Regarding history, you really want to bring that up bro? I'll take the gentleman's way out and leave it at that....I suggest you back off and do the same.
I will not back off, you jerk. I am very public and I have NO FEAR of exposure. The Clown Posse antifreepers exposed me thoroughly, and when they did, there was freedom. There was freedom not to be intimidated by troll assholes like you.
I'm IN IT, Sparky. You don't get to make decisions about what people do here. You don't get to make assumptions about people's circumstances and motivations. JRandom, you speak your mind as much as you want to. This troll deserves a nice beating.
