1 Question Could STUMP TRUMP in Debates

Mr. Trump, why do you blame Republicans for the 2008 economic crisis when it was caused by Democrat policies, and if you don't really know what caused that crash, why should we trust you to help steer the economy in the future?

Only things sure in life are death and taxes. And mother’s love for her child.

I am simply riding the Trump Train and this is more thrill than other primary contest in decades.

Hot Air posters are going gaga over Trumps response to gawker making Trump’s phone number public.

The rule will be 60 seconds for answer, and 30 seconds for response.

They would like it to be more but with 10 possibly 11 candidates, they don’t want the debate running until 2 AM.

The Republicans had been in charge from 2001 to 2009, and that’s why they got the blame. Moreover, pushing the TARP under the lame excuse that it’s too big to fail. That really made voters mad.

To answer the second part of your question I do know this. Trump made 10 billion in the private sector. How much did any other Candiddate in the private sector make?

To imply that he does not under economics is absurd and desperate attempt to tear down Trump.

Bush-43 tried so hard to be liked and to "reach across the aisle" so many times. For all his trouble, the Democrats hated him even more than they hated Reagan.

There ought to be a lesson in there somewhere for the GOPe. But people like McCain, Romney and Karl Rove still don't get it.

What you said is what I hear Rush Limbaugh repeat incessantly. And you both are exactly right. No matter how much “love” you show the democrats, they are not going to love you back. Actually you will lose many republicans by showing excessive love for the democrats.

I agree with you on the GOP...but what you miss is how strong Trump truly is with the base...

Look at the recent polls and their internals. Among actual Conservative/Republican voters, Trump isn’t winning.

Among Liberals, he is...that tells me a lot of what I need to know.

The debates will show much more about the candidates.

I disagree. You keep saying he is only at 6%...I don’t blame you, it is what the polls say. You also assume that Trump will win...I don’t think he will.

Look at the polling internals...Trump isn’t winning with the base. He is winning with people who are Liberal. Also, look at what is happening in the money race and in the ground game. Cruz is raising money right and left from the base...he is consistently asked to attend Republican dinners. He is starting a tour of the South. He has increased his team in IA....

Don’t write off Cruz just yet. And don’t believe the polls you are seeing either. Remember, polling outfits have and agenda...and they are a snapshot in time. Look at the hotair polling, grassroots polling on Breitbart. That is more indicative of the base.

moderates.

Bush Jr finished with one of the lowest approval ratings in American
history. 27%.

I’ll find it and link the last poll...

It says it is a Republican polled, but it only polled registered adults. These aren’t accurate polls.

The reality is a conservative like Cruz or Walker could win 100%
of the conservative vote and it still would not be enough to win.

Conservatives make up about 30% of American voters.

Even the most conservative of conservatives will have to pick up
a large chunk of independents and Reagan democrats to win.

Yes, and A Conservative would do it. If your concern was true, then HOW did Reagan win?

Bush 42 won as a Conservative when he first ran.

We have run these “moderates” that you think appeal to the other groups...how has that worked out?

If a Conservative would lay out an articulate Conservative message, he/she’d win in a landslide.

BTW, if wasn’t independents that stayed home the last election. If one group hadn’t stayed home (4 million of us) Obama wouldn’t be in office....(those were Conservative voters)

If I am not mistaken, only Harry S. Truman left office with a lower approval rating. See post #108.

For one thing, there were a lot more conservative voters when Reagan ran.

84% of Americans were working(not on the gov dole)

Today that number is about 55%.

Again, Romney would have won in 2012 if 4 million Conservatives hadn’t stayed home.

We need Conservatives...not more talkers who are empty suits.

And you think Romney was/is a conservative?

You talk about a conservative needs to win and can win,
then you throw Romney in to make a point that if 4 million conservatives
had not stayed home Romney would have won.

Romney was/is no conservative.
