Since yesterday was dedicated to the dogs it seems only fair to dedicate todays post to the cats. Unlike the dogs, I got no help from the cats. Like your computer theyre unreliable that way.
Ill finish when I feel like it, Karen.
And they seem a bit more ambivalent to autumns beauty.
Sure, its lovely
But do you think you could rake these up Karen? Its making it hard for me to creep up on the chipmunks.
Nor are they particularly fond of fall rain.
Another rainy day, guess Ill have to find something to play with inside.
Okay, maybe playing in that box of snow wasnt the best idea,
but its still better than the real thing.
I guess Ill just be driving from now till next spring if I need to go somewhere.
Besides, the world really needs me behind the wheel.

Wait till you find that you stepped on a land mine left in those leaves by a kitty. Not so cute.
Better than stepping in my dog’s landmines. Second only to cow patties.
And dont you bring home any more rescues

A Tennessee woman who rescued a kitten she spotted running across a road brought the feline into her car and took it home before discovering the creature actually was a baby bobcat.
Had a few cats over the years and while they ain’t dogs, a couple were really enjoyable...will miss “The Bubber” until I die....
Nothing will wreck your day more than stepping on a land mine of any kind and tracking it into the car or house. I’m ALWAYS on the lookout. But when the ground is covered in leaves, good luck. I love cats. But I don’t like their crap.
I had a little calico cat who liked to sit on my leg as I sat at the computer and surfed FR. She passed away at 18 on November 8, 2016. However, what happened later that evening brightened up what had been a very sad day.
... I love cats. But I dont like their crap.
well, they dont like yours either
Cats dont take no crap from anyone
Yeah.I had a Calico named Sally and she was a very loving cat. She was also the toughest cat I ever had. Killer extradorner. Fearless. I could be cutting boards with my skilsaw right next to her and she wouldn’t flinch. And she wasn’t deaf. She was my cat. A man’s cat. But her fearlessness got her killed. She would sit in the middle of the road eating road kill and growl at cars coming. Well you know what happened. Best cat I ever had. Calico cats are very unique. And if you find a male, they are worth money.
I’ve had several calico and tortoise shell cats and they all had personalities similar to that of your Sally. They make great pets for men.
When I studied at Northwestern, there was a huge open lawn by the lake that I liked to cut across as a shortcut. It had landmines. Not a lot. Just enough. I developed the theory that if they are there, someone will step on them.
One cold morning a tortoiseshell kitten followed me home. She grew up to be the most playful & affectionate cat I have ever known. Came when called, loved to be held, to play, & nibble on bare toes. I always thought she was part dog.
At 17 years had to put her to sleep when a broken bone left her hind legs paralyzed. Sorely missed.
Critter crap of any kind ain’t no fun to step in. But you’re much less likely to get as much cat doo-doo stuck to your heels. Unless they’re very ill, they usually cover their droppings.
Cats make for some great cheap entertainment, especially when they interact with other cats & critters. I’m just amused you gave one of your cats a hyphenated name.
:)
I’ve been adopted by a barn cat, a little stray Tuxedo moocher.
He would hang out on my porch in rainy weather, bit’s of straw stuck to him from where he been sleeping.
He had a regular route, going from house to house in the village for hand outs.
I started leaving him a few treats and it escalated; turkey giblet bits and broth last Thanksgiving and an occasional ear scratch.
Then semi-regular dry kibble meals when he showed up with a mouse or something, with an extended ear, chin, head skritch session, him pulling my hand back for more.
No he’s on the porch demanding wet food every morning and follows me around as I dig, plant, water flowers, likes to sit with me, under my chair when I smoke a cigar.
He perchs on a stack of concrete blocks and watches as I mow the yard, unconcerned as I go by 10 ft away.
He’s chased rabbits I’ve flushed from the berry patch or hedge with the mower.
He’s a little cat but a tough guy, runs off other cats twice his size. He’s getting a house next week, daytime lows in the 60s, nights in the 40s are forecast.
I’m not spoiling him, no...
“”However, what happened later that evening brightened up what had been a very sad day.””
I guess I’m the only one curious enough to ask what happened later that evening. Or the others were able to figure it out for themselves?
