Literally no one, NO ONE should be a billionaire
The Week ^ | June 2019 | Jeff Spros

"Does anyone deserve to have a billion dollars?" That's one of the questions The New York Times recently put to the avalanche of candidates coming for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination in 2020. A few of them, and not necessarily the most left-wing ones, offered a squishily-philosophic no. "I'm not sure anybody cosmically or morally deserves to have a billion dollars," as South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg put it. Others were more positive: John Hickenlooper, the former governor of Colorado, thinks the aspiration to make a billion dollars "drives a lot of our economy." One thing just about everyone agreed on was that the existence of billionaires is offensive in the context of a society also beset by inequality, poverty and deprivation of opportunity. "It's a question that isn't meaningful outside its moorings," as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) put it.

Raise the minimum wage to a billion dollars and we’ll all be billionaires. Plus, with the increased tax revenue we could pay off the national debt very quickly.

I’d be happy to help make a billionaire out of the scientist who cured cancer; found a way of neutralizing nuclear waste; or any number of other achievements.

I do agree that career politicians probably don’t deserve to make that much money at it...

Literally no one, NO ONE, should be smarter than anyone else.

Literally no one, NO ONE, should be physically stronger or
in better shape than anyone else.

Literally no one, NO ONE should work harder than someone else.

Literally no one, NO ONE, should excel at anything more
than anyone else.

Literally no on, NO ONE, should be more talented in any
subject or activity than anyone else.

And the socialist stupidity continues.

The prospect of a billion dollars motivates people to take enormous steps to improve humanity.
Waltons have made home goods accessible and affordable.
Musk is slashing costs of transportation, finance, and communication.
Bezos improved the Sears model a thousand fold.
And so on.

What many can’t grasp: one person can literally be >1000x more productive than another, and thus earn >1000x as much.

OK. Let’s take this further. NO ONE should have a second home in the Hamptons. NO ONE should have a private jet. NO ONE should own a Rolls Royce. NO ONE should own an island. etc. etc.

In the meantime, if you are the former Vice Presidents son, you can rake in millions and the left doesn’t care.

Lets allow everyone to print their own money! That would cause a big boon to the printer, paper, and ink industries. We could put our own mugs on the bills instead of dead presidents. I would start with a trillion dollar bill and see if it would last the whole day.

And nobody should have a happier marriage than anyone else, more job-satisfaction, greater general pleasure in life, ad infinitum.

We must find a way to dole these conditions out equitably!

At this very moment, I’m watching Leslie Stahl interview Jamie Dimon, billionaire chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, the largest of the big four American banks,.

Guy is fascinating. High-energy, tense, clever... I’m fascinated because I have two “third degree of separation” connections to him. My Japanese friend at the gym has a brilliant sister who Dimon promoted to West Coast Director. Dimon has a fraternal twin, Ted Dimon, who is in the same very small profession that I studied for. Ted and Jamie could not be more different.

Anyway, Jamie Dimomn is so blazingly smart, you have to love him. Or at least, I have to.. Begrudge him nothing.

Except for the hundred quintillion dollar first year deficit. And it's that small only if Congress acts somewhat more responsibly than they do today.
