I cant really explain why, but the results of yesterdays Democrat primaries reminded me of this animation from a 1979 Soviet/Russian animated film.
Faster! Higher! Stronger!
Maybe its because they both conjured thoughts of this nursery rhyme:
Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Its a nonsense poem designed to please children with highly effective imaginary visuals.
But the poem for some reason reminded me of the old joke about a pilot returning from a mission but couldnt locate his aircraft carrier. He circled the Naval formation below and because secure communication was required radioed Rub a dub dub, wheres my tub? To which he received the following response: Hey diddle diddle, its right in the middle.
Rub a Dub Dub and Hey Diddle Diddle I doubt either of them will make it over the moon
I cant explain any of this, I suspect it has something to do with Daylight Saving Time.

1945 Mother Goose--Carson Robison
As I did walk by Hampstead Fair
I came upon Mother Goose
So I turned her loose
She was screaming
And a foreign student said to me
Was it really true there elephants and lions too in Picadilly Circus?
Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, this time I think we go up the middle. Hike!
