Democrats Have Big Gun Control Dreams. Here Is Their First Move.

If it passes the Senate and is signed into law by President Biden, it would result in new background check requirements for all gun transfers conducted by private parties.

As it currently stands, unlicensed or “private sellers” are not required to conduct a background check for transfers on firearms, and this includes sales made at gun shows – which has resulted in opponents of such transactions calling this the “gun show loophole,” and additionally have argued this is how many criminals obtain their firearms. All licensed dealers, including those who sell at gun shows, are in fact required to conduct a background check.

I guess I should have been demanding the “gun show loophole” when they ran 4473s on me at gun shows. How can the rest of the article be worth reading?

There is no gun show loophole. Total BS but they know that and they dont care. This is the path to confiscation.

Universal background checks will lead to registration.
Registration leads to confiscation.
Do not comply.

How about we look at the States that have implemented the laughably ill-named “universal” background checks. Let’s look at their crime statistics and see if these so-called “universal” background checks have actually made any kind of statistically significant impact on crime. I’ll bet you an adult beverage that you can’t find one State that has benefited from these un-Constitutional infringements. So why the {censored} would anyone even propose something that provably does not work? Must be about something other than public safety....

It should be noted that it was in 1993 and is in 2021 technically possible to have gun purchase criminal database background checking along with gun buyer anonymity with respect to the government.

One means would be to have each state government issue bar books to gun dealers covering all persons to which it has issued ID cards. There might be annual cumulative bar books, monthly cumulative update bar books and daily/dealer request cumulative bar fax updates.

Another means for 1993 technology would have the gun dealer would call an 800 number, give the operator the prospective buyer’s ID type, the five-digit zip code off the ID or the first three alphanumeric characters of the ID, say 545 in the case of my passport or G61 or 34275 in the case of my state ID card. The government would then fax back the associated bar list. If my passport number or last eight digits of my state ID card number was not on that list, I could then pay the dealer and walk out the door with my purchase. In 2021, an Internet website could make this far easier, and cheaper.

Outlawing private sales is a big movement of the “line in the sand.” Since the 1934 NFA, regulation has been through the commerce cause. If you were not involved in firearms “trade or business” licensing and regulation (a word now no longer meaning what it meant in the 18th Century) did not apply. The individual's sole restriction was to not sell to someone who was or should have been known to you to be a criminal. Since in theory, all federal gun control is founded is keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals and not a law abiding citizen. As we all know these laws only restrict the right of honest citizens. Criminals, by definition, don't follow or care about the law.

And just think, if Pence hadn’t given legitimacy to fraud this wouldn’t be an issue.
Thanks Pence!

“There is no gun show loophole. Total BS but they know that and they dont care. This is the path to confiscation.”

The government can’t put down those evil white supremacists until they disarm them. And they will disarm them.

There is no fight, no push back. Everything is great, the cell phones work, tik tok, twitter and other social media is online.

It’s disgusting.

Let me know when Congre$$ passes a law describing how they are going to keep millions of illegal gun from flooding across the border when they succeed in disarming law abiding citizens. Probably the same way they keep illegal drugs and aliens out....oh wait, wrong universe again/

Gun Control is a sanitized term. What they really seek are gun bans.

Conservatives can and should ignore this if it becomes law. Most probably will, at least in rural flyover country. Here in MO, people try to bypass the government in any way possible, especially government fees. No need to finance them so they can get bigger and create more fees.
