Bandy Lee, the psychiatrist who repeatedly diagnosed Trump as mentally unfit and dangerous, without ever even having met him, has apparently been fired by Yale University.
What a shame.
At one point, Lee’s frequent long-distance diagnoses extended to Professor Alan Dershowitz. He wrote a strongly worded letter to Yale, which apparently played a role.
This all began unfolding last spring, but we’re just finding out now.

Bandy Lee MED ’94 DIV ’95, a formerly Yale-affiliated faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry in School of Medicine, filed a complaint against the University on Monday alleging “unlawful termination… due to her exercise of free speech about the dangers of Donald Trump’s presidency.”
University spokesperson Karen Peart declined to comment on the specifics of the case. Yale was the only named defendant.

To use your title, and education to make a diagnosis, without ever having examined the “patient” is the height of professional malpractice and is extremely unethical. Yale stands on solid ground with her termination. I wouldn’t be shocked if she faces licensing disciplinary action, as it is warranted in this case.
I bet Dirshowitz threatened legal action against Yale for allowing these fake diagnoses without examinations which I believe he has stated was against code or illegal for psychiatrists

I always thought she was just saying what all those people were thinking. Normally in situations such as these she would get a raise or the key to the city, or something! Who knew?
It is a case of gross repeated ethical violations. That can be a cause for action in a lawsuit if harm can be shown.
Apparently she’s only licensed in NY state which means nothing will be done by the Board there.
If what she did was so bad - why did Yale wait until Trump was no longer president??

Good riddance to Dimmocommie incompetent GARBAGE. Any really competent professional doctor would not deign to diagnose, let alone widely broadcast, a long distance diagnosis of this nature.
There were several books written about Trump by both psychiatrists and psychologists. I read one. A compilation of essays, edited by a psychiatrist in Asheville NC.
It was pretty good, very objective, and more informative of the detail criteria of narcissistic disorder (also why certain of these traits are good leadership qualities) and did not cross the line per the Goldwater Rule.
I’ve read the rule and attended psychiatry legal ethics courses taught by a psychiatrist who is also an attorney handling psychiatry malpractice claims for a medical malpractice insurance company. (My wife is a psychiatrist)
Lee definitely crossed the line.

Yale. Given the well known love the admissions department has for Asians, probably been looking for a good excuse to dump her for years, way before Trump. Maybe hired so that a box could be checked in order to get some grant money.
