Earth wobble: Unprecedented and widespread water receding event across Croatia worries locals (photos and videos)

An unprecedented water receding event took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia on March 29, 2021. Scientists associate this phenomenon with a rare occurrence…

And suddenly the water disappeared in Dubrovnik, surprising many beachgoers and residents of the ancient city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia.

‘Where did the water all go?‘, ‘Do we have to fear a tsunami?’ and ‘Is this normal?‘ asked many local eyewitnesses…

They probably recalled the 1667 devastating earthquake that destroyed the entire city.

Similar low tides were recorded across the Nin lagoon, one of the largest in Croatia. In the area, the low tide was so large that some islands could be reached by foot. The sea has disappeared completely… the sea became land:

According to scientists, this phenomenon has never occurred along the coast of Croatia.

The disappearing water event has been associated to the full moon and a small amount of precipitation, which in combination leads to the largest oscillations in the ebb tide.

Earth wobble Using satellite data on how water moves around Earth, NASA scientists have been able to find out exactly how and why does the Earth wobble.

When the Earth rotates on its spin axis — an imaginary line that passes through the North and South Poles — it drifts and wobbles. These spin-axis movements are called “polar motion” in scientific parlance.

NASA scientists have computed that the measurements for the 20th century show that the spin axis drifted about 4 inches (10 centimeters) per year. Over the course of a century, that becomes more than 11 yards (10 meters).

NASA scientists have broadly categorized three processes that are responsible for this drifting if the earth. The three processes are: contemporary mass loss, glacial rebound, and mantle convection.

global warming is now lowering the sea level. It can do anything!

The phenomenon is known as “tides.”

Yugoloar Slobonah, a spritely 354 years old, recalls drinking a cup of hogwash when the first news of the disappearing tide hit town...

.....disappearing water event has been associated to the full moon and a small amount of precipitation....

Are they really blaming an extra-low tide on a drought? Scientists say that this has never happened before in the region?

Really?

They can blame it on “global warming”, “climate change”, or whatever they they want...but one thing remains constant....not much can be done about it regardless of how much money they try to raise for the cause.

Maybe it’s all of that ocean water sloshing around that causes the wobble.

Entirely possible. I remember one of the questions that I asked my Hugh school oceanography teacher that he had no answer for. The daily tides....highest tide following the gravitic influences of the sun and moon. So why a second high surge on the opposite side of the first? My answer.: counterbalance. Liquid stabilizing what would otherwise be a wildly out of balance rotation.

“They probably recalled the 1667”

I seriously doubt anyone alive today can “recall” any event that occurred in 1667.

Urinalists, ya just gotta love ‘em.

If we set off some H-bombs on the far side of the moon perhaps it will move in closer and bring more tides.

An oceanographer who could not answer that most basic question??

Well I guess somebody must be on the bottom of the bell curve when grading in college
