Record label defends song making fun of liberals, says ‘message is speaking to millions of people’

One thing about liberals—they are soooo sensitive. God forbid someone throw a little shade their way. This was of course expected after Aaron Lewis released a song called “Am I the Only One?” which makes sport of liberals. Apparently, liberals are incensed that not only does the song make fun of them, it is also number one on the country charts. Sacrilege!

Lewis’s record label, Big Machine Label Group, has been getting slammed by the left for releasing the song, however they are standing by their guy, Breitbart reports. The company’s CEO, Scott Borchetta says he supports Lewis and dismissed calls by some to boycott.

One such whiner, a left-wing music blogger (career choice there) named Bob Lefsetz called the song “heinous” while slamming Big Machine for releasing the hit song.

If you asked me to define liberals in a word or two it would be “thin skinned”.

obama in particular.

I’ll always believe he has a raging inferiority complex

Feigned outrage. It confirms what N’Yorkers think of country music and something to talk about while sipping their lattes.

That song isn’t “making fun” of liberals. It’s an exression of frustration and disgust at what leftists have done to this coutry. It should be played — loudly — at the start of every session of congress... as a reminder.

There are two official versions, both Lyric Videos. This one has cleaned up language for the radio, f-bomb is replaced with hell and frikkin.

Thanks for the post. I hadn’t heard that.

That’s the kind of powerful performance that will grab people. I can see why its #1.

One of the best (although from a far-left perspective) was Love Me, I'm a Liberal by Phil Ochs.

A better dissection of their hypocrisy has never been written (although, again from a far-left POV). Lots of outdated cultural references (?who is Les Crane? ?Korea?) It still cracks me up every time I play it.

I take issue with that terminology. Today’s liberals want to outright ban anything they don’t like. That’s not being sensitive. That’s being fascist.

He was raised by his grandpa in Western MA and went on deer hunts starting at about 4-5 years old, inherited grandpa’s double barrel shotgun, hunts white tail with a bow himself, listened to old country growing up, Meryl Waylon etc. Hardly a latte guy but not a clean cut farm boy from the Midwest either.

But yeah, let’s go ahead and knock down the few famous people speaking up for America.

Wonder why the left wins the culture wars?

Checked it out.

I expected much harsher lyrics.

Patriotic. Nice production.

If liberals can’t handle that, “there’s the fricken’ door”

Sorry! I didn’t even think what I said could be interpreted that way.

I was saying that this is feigned outrage from the “Liberals”. The feigned outrage strokes their egos and provides them amusing discussions.

I don’t think the musician is faking anything.

I hope that clears it up.

Ah, I didn’t realize you were using N’Yorkers as a general term for liberal/leftist. I don’t think of NY as a big hub for entertainers and their critics, especially for country. I think of California, Nashville etc. Thought you meant the song/writer was feigning outrage.

I expected much harsher lyrics.

There are two versions. The other is on youtube and labeled as "explicit lyrics" for the F word being uses a few times.

I just read the lyrics. They are very high level. Anyone that takes this song as a personal insult is exposing more about them self than the song.

He hates the Constitution because it says he can’t be President.

He knows he is not a natural born citizen.

Too bad NOT ONE of our elected or appointed would uphold it.
