I can't believe how Orwellian everything has gotten!
After being banned on NextDoor last week - which they so nicely reneged to month-long suspension - I joined reddit.
I post 1 or 2 replies in a Maryland forum under typical libs attacking the trucker convoy, and I get "PERMANENTLY BANNED"! Right away!
But got banned for "COVID misinformation"! Basically, it was telling the OP that the "mandates" are NOT over (hence his quip that the truckers should stop as it's moot), and many are forcing the vaxes on us still though they are UNPROVEN LONG-TERM in safety.
After my response to the "mod", I was immediately "muted" for a month from even contacting these mods.
I told the mod that this behavior is outrageous, orwellian, given they have no expertise on this ever-changing science, and contrast that with how "alternative" medicine and the nonsense myths around that have never and still are not banned from the 'net for "misinformation".
I am so sick of this disgusting Orwellian behavior!

Reddit? It’s a cesspool. Reddit banned its VERY popular Trump sub r/The_Donald after it reached almost 800,000 subscribers prior to the 2020 election (Reddit’s most active community at the time). A lot of people moved to patriots.win

Unless there will be a drastic change in the misguided mindset of the public as well as a change in our corrupt government count on it that it will only get worse. People will only go for drastic changes when it will hit their pocketbooks or health or both, we are not quite there yet. But we are getting there at an accelerated speed. I think the powder keg is there it is just waiting for some incident to light the fuse.

Reddit is my garbage too - navigation is terrible. Usenet days were better, more civil, more helpful.
Same screen name as the other one and here? Maybe the mods there search user screen names on other sites and remove those they deem “unfit”.
There are some subs where you can speak freely. Most of the locality subs are not those places. Some have more woke and ban wielding mods. Some will ban you from their subs, which you may have never visited,for comments in different subs.
I posted some me job openings in r/antiwork and I don’t as was, of course, promptly banned
I gave up on Nextdoor after the “moderator” began locking threads and purging comments for simply having an opposing view. Not sure when these guys were brought in and given those powers but the platform quickly disintegrated into Facebook poppycock in my mind.
I really enjoyed discussing any and all things with my local neighbors. Sold and bartered many of things on that site too.
LOL... I have been banned from so many sub-reddits... let’s see: r/relationships, r/whitepeopletwitter, r/blackpeopletwitter, r/teachers, r/AITA, r/antiwork, r/workreform, r/interestingasf**k, r/politics, r/news... I’m sure there’s more. Or there soon will be. =)
