My uncle had one years ago on a hunting trip. Had my father not grabbed the steering wheel, everyone in the car would’ve been killed. They were approaching a major intersection.

The sports business has become more and more dangerous over the past couple of years. Both for the players and for the journalists covering the sports. The fainting, heart attacks, strokes, and “dropped dead suddenly” has suddenly become more common-place than years previously.

I’m no Dr. but Ive seen enough to know that was a seizure. The very first thing that happens is loss of consciousness. Patient comes out of it seconds or so later and has no clue why everyone is looking over them. Dehydration or not...this guy ought to get a cranial MRI to scan for tumors STAT.

I lived in New Orleans for many years. One of the most common causes of dehydration was excessive drinking of alcohol and the hot weather. If you are going to drink booze in such places, it is wise to drink water on a 1:1 basis. Even if you don’t drink alcohol, the humidity will dehydrate you quicker than you realize, because even if you are acclimated to it, you will sweat profusely. I did construction work for a while in New Orleans many, many years ago. In summer, we drank water and Gatorade all day long so we wouldn’t get dehydrated. I’ve seen guys react just as that announcer did, with sudden dizziness and lack of coordination. Not a good thing up on a roof.

Well, more than forty years ago when I was doing it there weren’t many Mexicans on construction sites in Louisiana. Quite a few coon-asses, though (i.e., Cajuns).
I remember it happening to Bruce Smith during a live interview years ago. He stumbled backwards then fell down.
