This will probably fall on deaf ears, but I just can't help myself. When I see something is true, and combine that with I how important I think it is to win this election, I feel compelled to speak up.
Elections are won in the suburbs. Repeat, elections are won in the suburbs.
There's more to it than this we could write a book about, but for now this is good enough. Republicans can't win urban areas, Democrats can't win rural areas.
Only 1 of the top 10 states in urban population % -- UT -- is a red state. The rest are either all blue (CA, NJ, NY, MA, etc) or swing (NV, AZ, FL).
Meanwhile, only 2 of the bottom 10 in urban population % are blue states (VT & ME). The rest are all red with one swing (NH).
Thus, the suburbs are the battle ground. Since exit polling began in 1972, the party that won the suburbs has won every single election.
In 2016, Trump won suburbans by 4 points. That, paired with his surge in rural support, was enough to win -- barely. Republicans have lost the suburbs in every cycle since, and thus lost.
In Iowa on Monday night, Trump could overcome under-performing his overall statewide turnout in suburban areas by as much as 10 points because we still have enough critical mass of rural voters who love him to overcome that deficiency. And in a Republican caucus, he can even still dominate (and did).
However, no such critical mass of rural voters exists in any of the states that will decide who wins the White House in 292 days -- AZ, FL, GA, MI, NC, NV, PA, VA, and WI (120 total electoral votes).
To win any of those states, and a GOP POTUS nominee has to win a whopping 68% of the electoral college votes contained within those states to win the White House, you will have to win the suburbs.
How Trump won the suburbs in 2016 (at least in rust belt states that Hillary thought was the blue wall) was being strong on trade deals and bringing jobs back to America.
How the democrats won the suburbans in 2020 and 2022 was scaring suburban women about abortion.
A fair election yes.
A rigged election with machines then no it’s not won in the burbs.
Florida ditched the machines, reintroduced paper ballots, required voter ID, have 1 day voting, eliminated drop boxes and cleaned their voting rosters of the dead.
What happened after that?
A HUGE RED WAVE in 2022.
What Florida did about needs to be repeated in every State. it does not have to be done at the State level.
It can be done at the county level. People just have to reach out to their election commissioner.
Doing the same thing over and over again with the machines, and expecting different results is insanity.
Get rid of the dam rigged machines, and go back to paper ballots.
Although some suburbs are just as Democrat as the cities they surround. I was thinking of the Washington DC area where Suburban Montgomery County is liberal and Democrat.
And the Virginia suburbs of Washington DC have gotten so Democrat, they have tipped the balance statewide in Virginia ,which used to be a reliably Republican state.
I think we would have to go City by City, to see how the suburbs of such cities are trending politically.
To the title of this thread I add a caveat— ONLY IF THERE’s NO CHEATING IN THE BIG CITIES.
Elections are won in the suburbs...and stolen in the cities.
Fair elections maybe. But if you run enough ballots through a machine, the best place to do that is in the urbs.
CRIME.
INFLATION.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
That’s enough to win the suburbs. FOCUS!
Networks were able to call the Iowa caucuses early because they watched the early results from suburban precincts in Polk, Dallas and Story counties where Trump lost in 2016.
Some precincts allotted a few minutes to each candidate and quickly finished. Others allowed lengthy preaching and the preachers thought it unfair when significant numbers in efficient precincts had already been counted.
.
To be more precise, elections are won by female voters in the suburbs and President Trump, and the Republican Party will make strong Pro Life gains with suburban women.
Get the working-class Whites registered and motivated to vote for Trump, and return the soccer Mom’s to the Ds. That’s where they belong. Oh yeah, Steve Deace is a #NeverTrump who has been wrong about nearly everything.
Isolated as he is, he's way behind the curve.
I don't live in Florida. The last I heard, Florida still has machines (DeSantis loves them) and extended voting.
He and the R legislators there should have changed that.
Abortion is not repeat not a winning issue for us with suburban women. What data is leading you to the conclusion that it is?
“Elections are won in the suburbs”
...and lost in court.
He’s blowing smoke even in Iowa. Trump didn’t win the ‘24 caucuses in the rural areas. He won in the suburbs. Only exception was a ONE VOTE loss in the corrupt University of Iowa county.
I would dearly love your sentiments to be true, but how do you explain pro abortion measures passing in Kansas and Ohio, two red states?
The shocking populist victories in Argentina and Taiwan were also both in countries with paper ballots and hand counting a fact I am sure is not lost on the globalists.
I might agree in an above-board electon, but recent experience with elections has shown me that “Elections are won by cheating Democrats in mega-population Democrat cities.”
Cheating is what Democrats do.
