News From Bill Ransom Concerning His Wife Kris

Bill and I talked today and he told me that he took Kris to Bend for a medical procedure last Monday and the results were not good.

 

4 months ago, her doctors here in Klamath found a suspicious "spot" between one of her lungs and rib cage.  The doctors didn't sound very concerned about it and decided just to watch it.  Since then, the spot hasn't grown and still the local doctors were not concerned.  Bill and Kris decided that it needed to be checked out anyway and they made an appointment with a doctor in Bend who's supposed to be the best oncologist in the state.

 

She was operated on last Monday morning (her lung collapsed so they could reach it) and the spot was biopsied.  The results showed that the spot was malignant, had spread to more then 30 other "spots" and was classified as "Stage 4" cancer.  The doctor removed as much of the "spot" as they could and have scheduled Kris to start a 4 month chemotherapy regimen Monday, January 12th in Bend.

 

This news has hit both Kris and Bill pretty bad.  It's been 7 years since her last (and second) battle with cancer and both of them are still looking forward to moving into their new home some time in March.

 

Kris is doing pretty good, so good in fact that she was back at work today.  Bill says she's not one to sit around and mope but keeps busy.  She plans to continue working all during the chemotherapy.

 

Time to pass the word to all our Prayer Circles.

Kris is a super lady ( she was even one of the torch runners in the olympic flame across America in K-Falls), and reminds us that we are all human, no matter how much good we do in our daily duties to God and country.
