I'm glad you are having a nice evening. Yeah, I try reading as much as I can even though I can't respond to all my pings.
Btw, I think I will start a very short ping list tomorrow, just you and all, since only you reply, LOL.

Invisible Soldier
You can tell her by the twinkle in her eye,
At parades when the flag marches by.
She served our country and she served it very well.
Some have even served a tour or two in Hell.
She suffered hardship and never ceased to care.
It gave us strength just to know that she was there.
She was a leader, you could tell by the rank she wore,
But she became the invisible soldier after the war.
She can march, she can fly, and she can sail.
She proved that bravery isn't exclusive of the male.
She did every job she was asked and more,
But she became the invisible soldier after the war.
Now, it is finally time to right a wrong.
Honor our sister soldier; hear her song.
It's very clear that she's a patriot to the core.
Don't let her be the invisible soldier anymore.

We Served
Some of us were drafted,
Some did volunteer.
All of us did serve our land,
While others just stayed here.
We fought, we died, we gave support,
Both stateside and abroad.
They called us baby killers,
They called the war a fraud.
We were only soldiers,
We did what we were told.
Young men never came back home,
Young men now are old.
We served with pride the USA,
And all we ask of you.
Is sit and shut your rabid mouth,
Till you have served her too.

Thank you, Dave.
I found the Invisible Soldier and asked Lori for a graphic. She did a wonderful job.
CG's wife, Laura Earl, sent his picture and asked if we could use it with one of his poems. Lori framed his picture and created a beautiful graphic. I thought the poem that I used with it was perfect.
Have a Terrific Tuesday!!!

We Saved A Seat
We keep a place in the parlor, a seat for an old friend,
Someone who went to fight for us, we shall not see again.
But just in case he wanders by, hes welcome to a rest.
Weve got the seat saved just for him, as flowers will attest.
We dont expect to see him, though we think of him a lot.
We only know he said, Im going, and Ill give it all Ive got.
We know he gave it that and more, and didnt pass in vain.
I guess we sorta knew it when he stepped up on the train.
Id rather think of him that way, instead of in the mud.
And certainly I wouldnt want to think about the blood.
Determined was his visage, and noble was his cause,
And when we count our blessings round, we stop here and we pause.
