The person who posted that.... would be INSTANTLY banned of DO.. it's so much easier for them than depating the point. When they're losing they are the type to just take their ball and run home.

Yep, they are even running a poll entitled Are you glad he's dead or some such. 58% happy at this point. A few of those are just happy that he is not suffering anymore. Can you even imagine having a poll to see folks are happy that someone died? GAK.

Maybe for the same reason as when you have a toothache, your tongue is irresistable drawn to press on it once in a while, even though it gives you a sharp pain.

I used to go to DU until it gave me the irrestitable urge to stab my eyeballs out with a fork. ;~D

Yes they are a cowardly bunch over there. Anyone who posts something that's not in rigid lockstep with their wacked-out tinfoil-hat ideas receives an instant ban. So, since there's no tolerance for debate, their site is one big exercise in mutual masturbation.

I don't think FR did a poll, but there were a lot of happy people here when Oday and Kusay (whatever their names were) were killed.

I was asking if THEY believed in Freedom of Speech, not you. They want to silence their opponents, yet claim to be the freedom fighters.

And if FR was around in WWII (Hypothetical since there was no internet), we would have expressed our happiness when Hitler died.

Uday (or Oday, or Udai) and Kusay received pleasure in the actual torcher and killing of innocents. They were responsible for so many atrocities the Iraqi people are still not sure of the extent. Were we happy that two evil people died? Yes. Is the world safer because they are gone? Yes.

The same is not true for the passing of Regean. He united our country, led it to greatness and the greatest peactime expansion of our economy ever. The technology fostered in the 80s allowed the tech-boom of the 90s to occur. Clinton rode a wave in and ruined it with his taxes and regulations and pandering to World-Com and Enron. But we still survived.

The left may hate Regean for dismantling the USSR, which speaks volumes of their beliefs and helps explain their pandering to China and North Korea. But the difference is, when Clinton dies, we will not spit on his grave.

When Saddam's boys were culled from the living, we rejoiced at ridding the planet of murderous dictators that pleasured in torturing, raping and murdering their own people. They were a cancer on the people of Iraq. Every day since their death things in Iraq have been moving forward

The DU and other Reagan haters are going to find an interesting feeling in a few weeks. That will be the feeling of a hollow victory. Their great enemy has passed away but nothing has changed. The USSR is still defeated, tax cuts are now part of the national discourse, interest rates have been slashed and remained so for two(2) decades, most people have pride in their country and liberalism has still suffered major defeats. Yes, a hallow victory indeed for the DU.

he [Reagan] starved more people that Stalin with all his cuts.

Just when I thought I understood the historical ignorance of the left, they astound me.

You know, DU exists today because Freepers insisted on visiting, and posting what they saw.

We drove traffic to the site and it grew by word of mouth.

That people can say what they say, tells me that -- without fail -- there will be a shooting civil war in America, the left versus the right. We are too polarized as a nation for any other possible outcome.

Some choice tidbits from Democrat Underground:

It's not that I hate the left. It's much more that I deeply despise everything they stand for to the very last fiber of my being, and that I seriously believe there will be a shooting civil war between the left and the right in my lifetime.

So your moral relativism is such that you compare Uday and Qusay Hussein to our President Ronald Reagan?

How have you lasted here so long!!

I don't think FR did a poll, but there were a lot of happy people here when Oday and Kusay (whatever their names were) were killed.

Oday had a penchant for raping young girls and both of them enjoyed personally torturing people.

I think the comparison is a little forced.

I've learned when examining the Left to never underestimate their arrogance, hatred, lack of independent thought, or ignorance.

Given their worldview and ideology they are NOT hypocrites. With those to whom reality is a mental construct and anything is Good and True that advances the cause, nothing that supports the cause is hypocritical. Without any immutable Truth there is no hypocrisy.

NO, I'm glad Oday and Kusay are dead.

I am sorry Reagan has passed, I am sorry for his family also. He is in a much better place now.

Okay, I admit it, I'm stupid. Now my husband can feel better that he was right about something (me being stupid).
