I find the leftists, especially the younger ones (20-30), tend to not read anything. One trolled here and wrote me several times. I would write a novel, and he/she would answer back with 3 lines. This person actually thought this refuted my points!!! In actuality, the troll just proved them. But how do you talk to a rock?

I have seen people who go through life without looking in an ideological mirror... I almost pitty them.

That is why I would rather not give him 6 pages to read.

It does not change the fact that I made a fool of myself and will be looked down on by all my co-workers who witnessed my outburst.

This guy works part time and with the rest of his time he is an independent film maker. I admire his ambition to "go after his dream" as he told me at the end of the evening, but I do tire of frequently having him bring it up. Maybe he feels guilty that he is unable to support his family and this is his way of setting himself apaart from the common man (that he is). He is married with one son. His wife graduated college with a psychology degree and makes $12.00 an hour in HR at a bank. He has an associates degree. She supports them and his income goes to pay off their loans, of which they have $8,000 in her school loans and I think $20,000 for other things including his film making. I told him he was blessed to have a wife that will support him. I don't know if he knew what to do with that word "blessed". He comes across as angry at, I dunno, maybe authority. We are supposed to wear a white button down shirt with a collar. He wore a waded up, yellowed one with a big spot on the shoulder the other day, plus I don't think I have ever seen him wear the required apron or name tag. Now there are signs up about our dress code, including that we are not allowed to wear a jacket. We have one employee that even though it is 80 out is wearing a jacket, she's cold. She said he's the one that has got us all under a magnifiying glass because he dresses like he slept in a dumpster. A few weeks ago he was telling me the KC schools are failing (it has not been accredited for a few years now) because they need more money! Uh oh, red flag, and I do mean red. I tried not to be too mean cuz he explained to me that his sister was valevictorian(sp) but could not get into college because of it. I know what it is like to be poor, and did not want to blame him who as a child had no choices in what his parents or the KC schools did. But I churned as he tried to defend the teachers who had not been able to improve grades under "no child left behind".

I am a Christian and if I am truely impressed by his ambition I should show an interest in his film making and just be his friend. Until I have won his trust I have no right to speak into his life.

People don't care about what you know till they know that you care. I know it works, I have done it before.

Look folks. There are a lot of folks on DU trying to rein these creatures in. If you know me you know I am no DU fan but at least a few are trying to be human. I got the link for this thread from DU. It is true that there are some real animals over there but there are also a few that still have a sense of humanity.

But how do you talk to a rock?

Negotiating with evil should not be an option !

Wade into them like cutting the chaff from the wheat

In the end truth will triumph over tyranny

I just think it looks bad if some DU lurker would run across a post and find that we don't even use the basic rules of English.

Have you ever been to DU? If 'its' vs. 'it's', drives you crazy, then there posts their will drive you to suicide.

Think I will go get some ice cream, an It's it, sounds pretty good write now.

(ps.just teasin ya on the above grammatical errors.)

From DU:

I think the one's who make DU look the worse are the ones moralizing about how we need to "respect" and evil f*** just because the f*** finally kicked the bucket after a not nearly agonizing enough struggle with a disease.

Unbelievable, that someone is so contemptuous as to say something like that.

Thanks!

I did read them and they gotme thinking about a l;ot of how I conduct myself among my liberal co'workers. I'm no debater, I just look stupid when I try to. they are always catching me off guard and un ready to challange them on any issue so I try to keep my tongue. but it is so hard at times.

I think if I knew more facts I could debate that guy that I work with p.t. (with the exception of my temper right now), but he's so foolish he wouldn't get it...

Sigh!

Like you, I really have no time to do a proper research enough to debate anybody.

I wonder sometimes how my co-workers find the time or are they just getting thier "mis" information fropm ABCCBSNBC and the tabloids.

I would say they're getting their mis-information from the major networks. For people like us we need to know not only the truth, but sometimes it helps to know the current lie being batted about. Twice the work.

We need to pray not only for their salvation but that the truth will be revealed to them, in my opinion.
