Bump to the top of what list?

Breaking news sidebar? or front page?

They won't pull it now. It's how they confuse the newbies. A year from now, you will laugh about this.

We really love newbies! The more the merrier! The more we have on our side, the stronger our nation will become! Welcome to Free Republic. Actually, don't ever trash us mods again. heh heh heh. Seriously, you raise a lot of good questions and with so many new folks joining because of the memo thing, it doesn't hurt to restate (again) what we know. Just right click on my name at the bottom of this post, it will take you to our profile page, lots of good info we've posted in the past that will help you around here. Look for "admin lecture series". That's where we've stored FR type threads that deal with site issues. And as always, ask questions. You might get hassled, but, it will be mild compared to a real troll.

I always go to the page with the stories on it, not comments.

Ok, what the heck,
I grok that.

Seems like a waste of disk space. You guys must have rooms full of hard drives.

Don't know if this is a plant or not.
We turned over Fallujah to the Iraqi Interrem Gov. to do with it as they like. The idea was:
* to allow the IIG to work with the local tribe chief to
appeal to all in Fallujah to lay down their arms, and tell
the New Iraqi Army (NIA) who was causing the problems.
* Meanwhile it was agreed that the 1MEF (1 Marine Expenditionary Force) would work with the NIA, and newly formed Iraqi Police to patrol the city from a SASO (Security and Stablization Operations) view point.
* The 1MEF under guidance from CENTCOM would continue to work with these elements to bring order to the city.
* As these goals developed various units from 1MEF would continue to train more NIA and Iraqi Police to better be able to handle the situation.
* Also as promised, 1MEF started to withdraw it's units
(Battalions such as the 3/4, 2/2 ...my nephews's Bn etc.)
from the city and just keep token forces on the outer perimenter of the city just in case.

Bottom line is our Marines wanted to continue the battle and level the city. This I know from various articles found at the official Marine Corps. OIF site.

We (US Marines) only agreed to the wishes of the new IIG,
in order to show the Iraqi public that we where willing to
find a peaceful solution to the insurgent problem seething
in Fallujah. I assure you many of our Marines where quite
pissed off, pardon my French (boooooooooh), that they
where not permitted to go in and kill every insurgent they
could find in that city.
So we keeped our side of the bargain. The Iraqi's as usual did not. Not that the IIG truly did hope they could get control of things.
So that is an accurate part of the story in Fallujah. I hope I at least answered some of your questions.

I started laughting some twenty minutes ago. But this is a waste of disk space and time. We should be looking at current articles etc.. I only come back because I do not want to appear non-polite. My ignorance caused you all to waste your time. Doesn't mean you all have to continue wasting your time. But good comes out of all things.
Perhaps my answers regarding Fallujah in some way provided a partial answer to the inquire.

Seems like a waste of disk space. You guys must have rooms full of hard drives.

Actually, your entire post (& replies to it) is the size of a three-page Word document (75Kb). You could fit about 9000 posts like this on a CD, and about 500,000 on your average 40Gb hard drive. Not a big deal.

Put this on your home page, so you can show it to your nephew:

You wrote:
"I, too, am concerned with what seems to be a rush to extricate ourselves from Iraq."
I am not concerned that we are rushing out of Iraq. That was not the intent of the article I double posted which had to be removed.
GWB and the DOD have not changed their minds one bit as far as the time frame for leaving goes. They have been saying for over a year that we and most if not all Coalition forces would leave Iraq at the end of 2005 back a year ago.
This was based on DOD, CIA and other agency estimates of how long it would take to stablize conditions in that country and provide them with some form of democratic driven central government.
So for starters, GWB is not going back on his word. If anything he is doing his best to keep it.
I have not for one been keeping track of new releases from
CENTCOM/DOD etc. for at least two months or so. So I do not know if anything significant has changed from the DOD's
original (2003) built up schedules.
If anything, I think the article Bob Novak (Chicago Sun)
authored may in some way indicate that GWB has no intentions
of dragging things out any longer then planned unless things really do go south. Shame the MSM cannot (since they are mostly just organs for the men behind the curtains...Brenton Woods and their bro's), provide informative news about Iraq etc., but that just is the way things are. Look folks. Once Troskey and other commie's came to America in the 1920's and set up shop, it has been all down hill most of the way. Yeah, presidents like Ronald Reagan where on the level ......he hated communism and the liberal agenda that leads to slavery. But lets face it you just taint going to get much news of significance via. the MSM. Since March of this year when my nephew went to Iraq I spent more time viewing CENTCOM for instance to see just what is going on over there. Much more accurate reporting there then what most of us saw on the boob tubes.

Bottom line is slime ball will use every bit of his snaky wacky venom to figure out ways to double talk the issues
concerning Iraq. That scares me because there are so many
people that haven't a clue as to what the deal is.

Boeing 707 up on concrete blocks in Salmon Pak Iraq in 1998
anyone? 60 Minutes showed us way back then before the war,
how Saddam sanctioned and promoted terroist groups, now the slime balls work against our president as he courageously
took the pig on. Aaaah I am Saddam Hussein, I am the president of Iraq.......I wish to negotiate......that soldier from the 82nd Airborne should have put a bullet in his head and saved the IIG the trouble of having to waste time to put him on trial.

Ok folks.
How do I clear out the list of post replies that show up in center of the page after I do a ping?

I have searched the help section and cannot find an answer.
Obviously, at least to me, as the list builds one would want to clear answered items.

Thanks.

The Dumbie link must have been hysterical. Pity you can't just remove the offending word without removing an entire post. I'm thinking the posts removed were priceless.
