The 911 Commissioner and the Intelligence Wall
By Linda Chavez
April 14, 2004
Attorney General John Ashcroft came out swinging in testimony before the 9-11 Commission on Tuesday. "In 1995, the Justice Department embraced flawed legal reasoning, imposing a series of restrictions on the FBI that went beyond what the law required," he said. "The 1995 Guidelines and the procedures developed around them imposed draconian barriers to communications between the law enforcement and intelligence communities. The wall left intelligence agents afraid to talk with criminal prosecutors or agents. In 1995, the Justice Department designed a system destined to fail."

"Wallgate" seems better at this point (there being so many possible "Treasongates" available to us from the period starting at noon 20 January 1993 and ending at noon 20 January 2001), but I expect other FReepers to weigh in with other ideas.
FWIW, I favor "Wallgate" because it sounds similar to "Watergate" but is incomparably worse in its devastating and tragic consequences.

I think Gorelickgate is the best name. She was also the gatekeeper of all the information that went from staff to the commission (I think that is right). So, she was involved in the spiking of this information to the full commission. The 9/11 report is now completely discredited...the commissioners are now complete jokes....all because of Jamie. GorelickGate it is, imho.

or,
"Arab world shocked."
Or,
"China threatens to nuke LA"
or if you really want to go for something with Gate, how about 'gorelickBergerGate'.

TRAITORGATE or TREASONGATE would work equally well if they were indexed...i.e., TRAITORGATE 1, TRAITORGATE 2,...etc...to indicate which treasoneous scandal is being referred to. This could easily get into triple or quadruple digits.

There once was a woman named Jamie,
With little (or close to no) shamie.
With no hemming, no hawing,
And no frozen-heart thawing,
She searched for a fall guy to blamie.

I would like Burglergate - I am sure Sandy's trips to the Archieves for Clinton had to have something to do with removing embarassing details, although we will probably never know what that was since the security detail at the archives must have been on a coffee break while Sandy was stuffing his trousers and socks with TOP SECRET documents.

"Clinton-Treason-Atta-Gate."
It is a bit awkawrd, but unless Clinton is made accounatble and LINKED IN NAME to this it and unless atta's nameis in ti (everyong knows Mohammed Atta, who is a proxy for UBL)will likely just be nebulous as hell in the public's mind.
