The animated television series South Park has got grosser over the years - but its creators are getting away with it.
Hardly anyone raised an eyebrow five years ago when the show depicted the Islamic prophet Mohammed, co-creator Trey Parker told Time magazine.
"We created a brand for ourselves, so that now people can't get mad at what we do, because then they're just making fun of themselves," said Parker, 36, as the show heads into its 10th season.
The first season was much tamer than shows of late, said co-creator Matt Stone, 34.
"None of the shows we've done in the last two or three seasons could have been shown on air back in 1997," he said.
Over the years, Stone and Parker have reached beyond their cartoon comfort zone to work on projects including the sitcom That's My Bush! and the movie Team America: World Police.
Another movie is unlikely, they said.
"We have a hungry baby we have to feed," Stone said. "South Park takes every idea."

They were originally do a lesbian thing with the daughters but apparently that was over the line for comedy Central.
bttt
There can be only one grossest* South Park episode.
And that episode is "Scott Tenorman Must Die".
*Grossest, in no way, implies "bad".
This is going to sound nuts, but I had a South Park dream last night.
The boys are at the South Park public library, and they find a book with a sticker on it that says: "This book is offensive to Islam because it contains BLASPHEMY INDECENCY (one or both checked off)"
Cartman asks WTF is going on here and the librarian tells him, "CAIR asked us to put the stickers on the books, we're not censoring or anything but we want to educate people to know what offends our Muslim neighbors."
Naturally Cartman demands, "What about books that are offensive to Christians, will you put stickers on those too?"
And Kyle pipes up, "How about books that are offensive to Jews?"
The boys make up a bunch of stickers and soon every book in the library has a sticker explaining why it is offensive for one reason or another.
They put a sticker on the "Holy Koran" just as a group of Muslims are coming in to inspect the library.
I woke up just as they were about to behead Kenny.
Alouette, I think you need to send your resume to Trey and Matt. :)
