It supports my contention, that no mother was watching what Kellie was choosing for the prom. Look at her hair; obviously not a hairdresser involved.

As far as current styles and societal values go, I've been known to quip that Afghanistan could make a fortune....just open schools for girls where US parents could lock their girls up, in burkhas, until the girls are old enough to develop their own values!

The young guys (and some not-so-young) are going to love you for those fashion pics!

Not me. I have granddaughters that age, and all believe in modest attire. I haven't seen their belly-buttons since they were babies and I'd like to keep it that way!

Because of the sleazy pics of Pickler and McHo, I have revised my list for the top five AI's:

My new list is: 1. Elliott 2. Chris 3. Mandisa 4. Paris 5. Lisa.

I know we ain't NEVER gonna see sleazy pics of Paris and Lisa. Their Daddies and Granddaddies will see to that!

I don't know what kind of Grandpa Kellie has, but I bet he's a swinger.

Taylor is no longer on my list because he annoyed the heck out of me last week with the hokey outfit and the wild uncoordinated dancing. From now on I refer to him as Rainman.

(I know, jonny--that is harsh.)

Good grief! She is running around Grandpa's wheat patch like that?? And she acts like she does not understand words. This changes my view of her. By the way, I would like that dress if the bottom portion was pulled up to her waist. There would still be the open squares but even her naval would not show.

You've just made my list of American Idols, right up there with Jim Robinson.

I posted them only to make the point that Pickler's prom costume is tame by modern standards, and that both the fashion and entertainment industries continue to push slutty stuff at young children.

Furthermore, we -- a generic we, meaning our society -- continue to stand by and let it happen.

That prom pic of Pickles proves it, she's not a sweet, innocent little country girl.

Since when did school's start letting girls dress like ho's?

And she can sing. She should win this thing in a walk.

So it almost went to plan. Bucky and Kevin were as expected the two main candidates to be booted off American Idol, but it wasn’t the readaBet.com selection who received the lowest number of votes – that honour went to Kevin Covais.

I thought the 16-year-old New Yorker was particularly unlucky as 50s week was one of his stronger performances, while Bucky Covington did little to impress. Not suprisingly it is Bucky viewed as the clear odds on favourite to be the next singer out.

The 4/5 on offer from bet365 is hardly worth bothering with though, as previous seasons of American Idol have thrown up some serious surprises often at this stage of the competition. That said if Bucky isn’t the one to go this week, it could well be the turn of Lisa Tucker – available at 9/4 – to be thrown out the competition.

Turning our attention to the winners market and Chris Daughtry continues to dominate the betting. Paddy Power currently offer the best odds of 15/8 with Katherine Mcphee not far behind at 11/4. The original readaBet selection to win the competition, Taylor Hicks remains very much in contention at 5/1.

Mandisa Hundley is the only other contestant given a single digit quote, while Kelly Pickler, Paris Bennett, Ace Young and Elliot Yamin are around the 12/1 mark. Lisa and Bucky are the outsiders for the competition due to the reasons above.

For many years, now. Goes back at least to the early 1990's when the micro-miniskirt came back with narry a peep from the populace.

Don't forget...at this stage the makeover artists are "suggesting" what the contestants should wear, how they should look, etc.

Hey Wolf...

Put a red bowtie on him and slick back his hair (leave the suit and his weird moves) and guess who you have...

I don't see how it could be anyone else at this point. Katherine and Chris are both enormously talented and consistent performers.

However, I think Chris needs to avoid the "one trick pony" tag and demonstrate some versatility. Likewise, Katherine needs to avoid becoming too cabaret and could use a shot of something contemporary.

Both are extremely likable and have strong fan bases. They should end up 1 and 2, with the most consistent yet versatile among them becoming the fifth American Idol and the other having an equally rewarding show business career awaiting them.

While doing search for American Idol articles I ran across this. Now don't slam me due to where it comes from, but I was curious to see what they had to say about Ace so I decided to read it. Some of it turned out to be pretty funny... They "bash" on all of them but this writer favors (favored) Chicken Little and not Ace.

Here is a few tidbits...
(the article is 3 pages long)

Seacrest introduces the top 11 and they all trot out to take their applause. Pickler seems out of it. She’s got dead-eye face until she remembers she’s on a stage where people can see her, not hiding in a fort she made out of the box the washing machine came in. That’s when she turns on the Pageant Grimace. It’s a small moment, but it’ll return for an encore later…

This week’s special celebrity oldster is Barry Manilow. Barry is, after all these years, still phenomenally popular. He was the Clay Aiken of the 1970s, but even more successful than Clay, in an era when it was still impolite to publicly speculate on the sexual orientation of a male performer, even if he played piano for Bette Midler in gay bathhouses. Barry’s latest CD, a collection of boring cover versions of 1950s songs, is the number 1 record in the country, so he’s spent the week with the AI kids, arranging and coaching and freaking them out with his immobile face. His jaw moves when he speaks, and that’s how you know he’s still alive.

Last week Simon tried to emasculate Bucky the Babymaker by comparing his gleaming blond hair to Jessica Simpson’s. This must have stung poor Bucky, because it appears as though he hasn’t washed his hair since then. He was right to do that, because he ain’t the man I’ve come to know and love without his trademark layer of grime.

Seacrest, introducing Captain Caveman Elliott, busts out his “A” material and makes jokes about Simon being so old he actually remembers the 1950s.

Back in the studio, the crowd is cheering for Barry, making it hard for him to focus on Seacrest’s questions. Barry cannot not respond to a cheering crowd. He’s so old-school that if an audience is making a ruckus for him, he can’t help himself. He has to acknowledge them. “My public!” appears in a thought bubble over his head. Barry begins to sing “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing” and HOLY CRAP IT’S BOBBY BENNETT!!!!!

Perhaps you remember Bobby Bennett. The big boy with the Jackie Gleason vibe and the gay way of clapping. The BARRY MANILOW OBSESSIVE. There he is, standing up in the audience, swaying to Barry, clasping his hands together like an excited schoolgirl for Barry, ready to leap up onto the stage to hump the leg of Barry.

Does Barry know that this kid is in the same building? Are his bodyguards standing by? Because it’s gonna be Rupert Pupkin time up in here if he doesn’t. Cut to Katherine McPhee laughing her head off, but no cut to what she’s laughing at. And then we know. The song stops and Bobby Bennett rushes the stage to bear-hug Barry. “I’LL BE IN VEGAS ON THE 12TH!” Bobby Bennett shouts at Barry’s face. Barry, quickly attempting to disguise himself as Santa Claus, exclaims, laughing, “Oh, ho ho ho! Come see my show!” Bobby Bennett is led away from Barry and his crushed vertebrae.

The rest of it is here....

"The best part happens at the end:

Paula is standing, dancing, waving her hands in the air, like she does, and then Taylor—hip cocked out, shoulders hunched, neck squooshed down, and left arm contorted into a triangle—ends with a note of seriously bugged-out finality, his left hand zapping the judges with what can only be Invisible Magic Saxophone–Fortified “Love Me!” Jizz, impregnating them all with adoration for Whatever the Hell That Was He Just Did.

Cut to a child yawning in the audience"

This is solid comedy.

PEE WEE HERMAN.

Nah! Pee Wee Herman is a short, skinny, ugly guy. Herman is also gay. Taylor may not be genuinely handsome, but he's not ugly either. In addition, there's nothing to indicate he's gay.

I'm convinced his odd, awkward, stiff body movements are due either to a mild case of Tourette's syndrome or something comparable.

Wonder if Taylor's body movements are a carry-over from his Easter Bunny days. They seemed oddly appropriate when he was wearing the bunny suit on that episode. 'course, it could be the other way around and his strange movements may have gotten him the bunny gig.
