Which myth? The one concerning the reaction the two have when mixed, or the myth about the poor sap who chugged a diet coke with a stomach full of dissolved menthos?

David Letterman did the soda/mentos trick a few weeks ago. It was a total dud. Never heard of the stamp on a helicopter blade (??)

A dud? I wonder why. They seem to make it work well on Mythbusters.

It's gotta be the original round tube mentos, not the square pack, and DIET COKE.
Do NOT shake up the Diet Coke! Unless you plan on slamming it into the pavement creating a diet coke rocket!

There is a video on Youtube of a chick that out the Mentos in her mouth and then drank Diet Coke. She pulled the video before I could see it, but supposedly it was very fun for her. :P
Other wise I haven't seen any other videos showing somebody do the same. Did they do that on Mythbusters or did they just do the drop the Mentos in the bottle thing.

Here's a vid of a girl debunking the myth about drinking pepsi and eating mentos and its alleged harmful effects. See it for yourself to see if the myth...or maybe something else...gets busted.
Don't blame me...I didn't make the video. Hehe...

We tried it too about 2 weeks ago; used regular Mentos and got about a 6 foot spew out of Regular Coke, not diet.

I have no idea. David Letterman did it (first I ever heard of it) and set the diet coke close to the audience. When he dropped the Mentos in, and ran, it bubbled over like a soda that had been shaken before opening. It shot straight up and out, but hardly 7 feet.

When he dropped the Mentos in, and ran, it bubbled over like a soda that had been shaken before opening. There's the problem. You're not supposed to shake it before opening.

No no! Letterman & Co didn't shake the soda. The soda was sitting on the floor, opened. Then he dropped the Mento in, which was very anti-climatic.

They must have opened that bottle for quite some time, cause a freshly opened bottle will geyser!
