Kitty Litter Cake -YUM

OR.. A MODIFICATION of book

How to Lose friends & Horrify people?

Thinking of LInda, and Marcia & Karen & Jean & others with Kitty rescue groups.. what a hoot to bring to the next meeting for refreshments.

Or Nancy Y..one of your catering gigs?

Or JohnW and Bill B how about your next singles meeting? Good way to guarantee you will REMAIN single!

Or maybe at our next potluck at Walton Hills Church of Christ.. They already think I am weird there. Might as well close the case. I want to try it!!!!

Is this worse than....DIRT...for dessert??? Thanks to FReeper friend Ray.. BADRAY..for sharing one of his favorite recipes –and what do you know we are posting a thread together of such political depth & savvy.

This is for all you cooks out there looking for something a little different.........YES! Your next political rally!

WANT TO HAVE FUN AT A PARTY? PREPARE THIS RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE,

On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn't look very nice, but it's actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.

CAKE INGREDIENTS:

1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape
the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the "litter box". Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

I'd love to see the faces as this is being served. Especially the kids. ;)

Someone did that for the college student group when I was in school. They gave us a list of Italian words to choose from, and you got what you chose off the list. The game was whether or not you could choose the Italian word for fork or spoon.
The gloves are a nice touch. They would relent later in the evening and let you have a food item that you didn't choose, but no utensil.

I made this several years ago for a cub scout banquet and won the dessert contest. I just used chocolate pudding, tootsie rolls, and grape nuts cereal on the top.

I couldn't even watch folks eat it. LOL! All those rotten-puppy-dog-tails-boys licked the pan clean. They loved it!

Thanks for the ping Dolly. If you set this up by the door you can probably end the 'get together' altogether! LOL

I agree...some hairballs a disreet distance away on a newly-cleaned section of rug.

If you can create it on a tangle of electrical cords...all the better....

Extra bonus for in shoes....

There's an Unneutered Tomcat version too, if you don't mind making a sauce.

Thanks for the ping. I think I saw this on FR last year. It's disgusting but funny. Don't know if I could eat it though.

Oooops!

I just Shoo-Shooed in the big smelly Box
Grateful for the privacy and that nobody knocked
Now I'm watching my Pretty One busily working away

Maybe she's making a fresh, clean Shoo-Shoo Box for me today?!
So I can have nice box to scratch after a day of play
Though watching my Pretty One is both educational and fun
As she lifts the clean Shoo-Shoo Box, I hope it is the right one!

As G-d is my witness, I was referring to spraying.
