The tought crossed my mind today while watching the election centered news - If Obama wins, how will America respond to a Black govenment?
What do I mean by that?
When you look forward to a Hillary or Rudy or whom ever led government, you see a traditional colection of mostly white men, a scattering of white women and a black here and there. The Cabinet and inner circle - all the same
One has to think with Obama's election, the inner circle will be largely black. It is natural. They are his associates. Will the Black community expect a large number of appointment? Any way you cut it - Visually, "things" will look different from the previous 200+ years of US government.
So back to my question.will America respond to a Black govenment? Will it make a difference? Will there be back lash? If we discuss it now, it will become a racial issue. If it comes up should Obama be elected, it will become racial.
It's an interesting thought at this cross roads for our country.
They do because that is the only time we even look at them. It’s a matter of concern over the soundness of their reasoning powers. Otherwise they would be ignored completely.
Cynthia McKinney will be the Minister of Propaganda, er Press Secretary.
Yep, New Orleans and Zimbabwe. With Obama, as with all too many black people, color comes first. I was very distressed today to hear Denzel Washington, whom I have always admired, say that he really liked Obama’s “new ideas.” What “new ideas”? Income redistribution and softness on crime are as old as the hills.
Naaa, he’ll have William Jefferson as the Secretary of Treasury.
I like Condi Rice. Why do you ask? You know it isn’t about the color of their skin....
Democrats have no such lock on the Asian vote (which encompasses as many different cultures as the “Hispanic” vote) but there have been no set asides or preferential treatment.
There ARE black conservatives out there. And I am not talking about wealthy black citizens, I’m talking about church going people. The Democrats get miffed when they do not vote for the leading lib (either voting Republican or staying home), proclaiming that they vote against their own financial interest and vote against civil rights for homosexuals because of religious superstition.
The coalition of special interest groups courted by the DNC do not share a common ideology, goals, or principles. There is intimidation and discrimination used to pressure people to vote for The Party or else be considered a race traitor, politically incorrect, etc.
No. I don’t even try to read minds anymore.
George Clinton: National Endowment of the Arts director.
Most of us would say that we didn't get an evangelical cabinet when Bush was elected, though some Democrats will disagree.
So why would we get an African-American cabinet if Obama is elected?
Probably some Clark Clifford or Harold Ickes type would help Obama pick out his cabinet.
Obama is pretty well in touch with his inner White guy, isn't he?
There probably will be some "backlash" against the administration. There always is, sooner or later. But will it really affect all African-Americans?
My first response was to say no.
If Barack turns out to be a ditherer you may see a bit fewer stereotypes of Blacks in the media -- fewer feisty black women judges, etc -- but that's about it.
But on reflection I don't know. Politics can be pretty brutal, and there's always a lunatic fringe out there.
Inexperienced airheaded STINKIN liberal pandering black man just because he is black ... what do you think? I know I know I'm a racist for saying it ... excuse me while I PUKE
A long time Black friend of mine is hoping that Obama wins. His business has seen about a 10% reduction in gross sales this past quarter and he’s hoping for substantial reparations.
He said that $50,000 apiece would mean a taxfree $350,000 for his family alone. Where can he get a better deal than that for his vote? Three years income just for voting the way his Momma would.
What a racist remark....it would be a BLACK President....not a BLACK GOVERNMENT.
Kim DuToit says that the whole basic problem in Africa is that there are simply so many ways to die young that nobody ever lives long enough to get wise.
Well, I think we could look to the large cities who have elected black mayor’s for that answer. Furthermore, we have a so called conservative candidate whose qualification is former Mayor. What will his government look like?
The problem would be how would he deal with I Slam governments given that he’s a follower of the Religion of Pieces....regardless of any statements to the contrary.
One Nation Under a Groove!
I’ve been pondering that very question all day and have yet to come up with an answer. Yea, it’ll be entirely different but the real question, which you’ve honed in on is how is the Anglo/European-American population going to handle it. After a great deal of thougt, I’ve pretty much concluded that the vast majority, (60+%) won’t respond in any form because 1) most are too busy making/spending money having been propagandized into endless, pointless work/consumption cycle and because 2) they’ve had it beaten into their heads that to respond in any form, i.e. to open their mouths, is to be “racist”; they’ll never say much of anything.
Another way to look at this question is to ask how will the Blacks respond? I don’t think we’ll see anything outrageous there unless there’s an obvious and drastic drop in support for the gov’t on the part of the Anglo/European American population, which I don’t think we’ll see unless there’s dramatic and drastic change initiated by Obama.
There in lies the real heart of the matter, what will Obama do? If he goes radical anti-white with Reparations, etc., we’re going to see major problems. I have to believe that notwithstanding the awsome dead cat bounce response you get out of the white’s on most stuff, that if he comes after their money and property there will be problems.
And I oppose liberal trash, be it a Kennedy, a Jackson, or a clinton.
‘Yep, New Orleans and Zimbabwe. With Obama, as with all too many black people, color comes first.’
Are you aware that a larger percentage of whites vote for whites than the percentage of blacks voting for blacks? Last poll I saw showed more black voting for Hillary.
Unfortunately, too many of us let our prejudices form our individual reality.
Every black person who come out in support of Obama are attacked solely on the basis of their color. The perception, too prevalent around here, is that a black person cannot form an opinion outside their race...just too (I’m sure many will fill out the blank.
Whites all over the country are supporting white candidates and not once (not once) has anyone opined that their support is based upon their white skin color.
