Sousa, reached at his home in San Jose tonight, said he had not heard from his son's friends, who were released from San Francisco General Hospital on Saturday.
"They have not called me," Sousa said. "Last time I talked to them is when they told me my son wasn't with them, and the next day I found out my son was dead, and that makes me a little angry but there's nothing I can do."
The Dhaliwal brothers have been hostile to police in the death investigation, authorities have said. After the attack, the brothers refused to give their names to authorities or identify Carlos Sousa Jr. They also refused, until Thursday when they were interviewed by police, to give authorities an account of what happened. Police have not revealed details of their interview with the brothers.

Umm, I hope this doesn’t mean what it sounds like it might mean, i.e., the recently deceased may have had a little help getting that way.
(No, I didn’t read the article, and I haven’t been following the story, so if I sound like a moron, just move on down to the next comment.)
That’s what came to my mind, too. Unless the brothers are illegals or have criminal records, why withhold their names?
Is “Dhaliwal” an Irish name? There is more to this story.
When youre a Jat,
Youre a Jat all the way
From your first cigarette
To your last dyin day.

Sikh and you shall find.
There is certainly some reason they won’t cooperate, and wouldn’t even from the start. Illegal activity, illegal immigration status, or who knows, with names like theirs, maybe even terrorist wannabes who view any cooperation, even to save their own sorry lives, as giving in to the enemy.
With all the theories about how this happened, consider this. What if the boys realized the tiger was coming after them and they threw the young victim at the tiger in an attempt to get away. Is that murder?
The police need to stay ON these guys until they find out WHAT happened. What DID NOT happen was a 300lb tiger just out for a stroll on the Zoo grounds and running into these 3 losers accidentally. Luck ain’t THAT fortunate. Like ANY MAJOR accident there are ALWAYS more to the issue then meet the eye upon the initial investigation. There is background galore here JUST waiting to be found.
The young men for some reason didn't scare, so the tiger advanced on them and took a swipe at one of them. That's when they tried to get inside the Cafe but the employee wouldn't let them in ~ obviously because he knew full well that tiger had been up there getting "snacks" after closing for quite some time. He did not want to make the tiger angry!
Eventually the tiger gets angry, kills one of the young men and drags him over near the enclosure. Then the cops show up and shoot him.
Remaining unaswered is where the shoe (outside the enclosure) came from? Did this tiger perhaps come upon someone else over the last few months and eat him or her?
How long have zoo employees and managers been aware the tigers can get out and walk around unsupervised?
How many people in the San Fran Bay area have gone to the zoo and never returned?
No doubt there are more questions to be asked, but I guarantee I am not going to go to any of these zoos any time soon!
Even the behavior of the CAFE employee, in the face of a customer obviously bleeding and needing help, makes sense if that employee knew the tiger did this as a regular thing.
As bizarre as it might seem, people can and do get used to dangerous animals walking through town.
It’s nice to assume when you don’t know all the facts.
Tigers are NOT supposed to be allowed to run loose ~ period.
Wow, maybe one of the most ridiculous posts I’ve read in a long time. So, this tiger jumps out at night and goes dumpster diving, then climbs back into his enclosure and has been doing this for a while, huh??? Okkkaaayyyyy
No, really, you can’t be serious, right? Did I miss your sarcasm tag?
As far as the "tiger heading toward the cafe" it bypassed several other animals it could have killed, but she was following the trail of blood left by the idiots who had taunted her.
Your hypothesis is invalid if the blood trail is simply that of the fellow who was killed and then dragged back away from the Cafe to the tiger’s lair.
The brother yelled, police said, and the tiger released him, then grabbed Sousa. At that time, the brothers ran toward the cafe. The tiger caught up to them and again attacked before police fatally shot her.
When you can provide a link which backs up your theory, I will listen.
As the tiger mauled Sousa, the Dhaliwal brothers ran away, but Tatiana soon caught up and continued her attack until police shot and killed her.

Just to put an end to your wild imagination. That would be two links for ya.
