I know there's a lot of Freepers who actively follow college fooball. I don't know about you - but I love ALL of the bowl games, especially the early ones.

Yeah yeah, I know. Who cares about the Bell Helicopters Fort Worth Bowl or the GMAC Bowl...right? But you know what? There's a lot of teams that are happy just to be in a bowl game and they don't care where it is.

Boise State deserves better than the Boise Bowl.

Who cares. My Bucks are out of it (unless Penn St. loses). But they won't let us back in for another decade. We sucked the last two years when we were in the Championship Game.

I never was a college sports guy, and I find myself becomming less and less interested in sports.

That said, it always makes me feel good to hear one of my fav teams doing well. I’ll watch my teams esp if in the final 4 - but I don’t pay much attention otherwise.

The use of steroids turns off a lot of fans.

No way. Their projection is all wet. If USC and Oregon win out, Oregon goes to the Rose Bowl as co-champion of the Pac 10 because USC went last year. Where are they getting Pitt from? Pitt is ranked 21st now.

If Everything holds as it does now (but probably won't), the BCS games would be any combination of the following: Alabama, Texas Tech, Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma fighting it out for the national title with USC playing the one with the most losses as the 5th vs. 6th ranked team in the Sugar Bowl. Penn State would probably end up playing Oregon or Penn State in the Rose Bowl as the co-Champions of their respective conferences.

IMHO Utah would probably play against Boise State if both win out.

They probably figure that Oklahoma beats Texas Tech and OKlahoma wins some sort of tirbreaker and then they beat Missouri in the Big 12 championship game.

It would certainly make sure Bronco Stadium isn’t half full (give or take) for the H-Bowl this year.

Regardless, I think BSU goes somewhere else this year besides the H-Bowl.

Can I ask why on earth we aren’t in the above BCS bowl predictions?

Obviously the person doing the projections thinks that OU will beat Tech, dropping them below Texas and OU in the BCS rankings.

The BCS rules state that a conference may have no more than two teams in the BCS bowls. They (erroneously) are expecting those two teams to be OU and Texas.

Texas Tech 48 - OU 41.

Notre Dame (5-4) in the Gator Bowl?? I think not.

The best Notre Dame will do barring a collapse by USC is 7-5.

If they go to the Gator Bowl, I will never watch another bowl game in my life.

IMHO Utah would probably play against Boise State if both win out.

I don't think the BCS could do that with the fact that there are automatic tie-ins to every single BCS game sans the title game. The only way that might happen would be if both teams were to lose at least once before the season ends.

No way. Their projection is all wet. If USC and Oregon win out, Oregon goes to the Rose Bowl as co-champion of the Pac 10 because USC went last year. Where are they getting Pitt from? Pitt is ranked 21st now.

Actually, it's Oregon State, not Oregon. The Beavers wouold go to the Rose Bowl if they win out.

St. Petersburg Bowl

Thanks for the post. Here is a bowl game I have never heard of before. In fact, with the bowls now being named by sponsors, and with so many sponsor changes, there are numerous ones that I have trouble recalling.

There was an awesome sign at the game Saturday:

Yeah, I’m not thinking that a 7 win Notre Dame team will go to a bowl game unless they want some sort of low hanging fruit so they can break their bowl losing streak.

If Oregon State wins out, they are the outright Pac 10 champs.

USC would probably get an at-large bid due to the rankings.

If Oklahoma beats Texas Tech in 2 weeks, and then all 3 (OU, TT, Texas) win out, it goes to a tiebreaker system to decide who represents the Big XII South in the conference championship. It’ll go down to the 5th or 6th tiebreaker, which is BCS ranking. If OU beats Texas Tech and then Oklahoma State, they should be ahead of Texas.

I wish the Big Ten and Pac 10 had conference championships.

I have to say how much I enjoy seeing the beautiful stadiums! Seriously - some are just incredibly huge - some are in a beautiful setting, and some are just loved by the students and fans.

And some will be going through construction beginning in January to expand and beautify!

I’m with you Steve - we watch every bowl game we can. Not everyone can win the championship or get a BCS Bowl game - but it is a honor for the school to be asked to play in any bowl game. I’m tired of the elitist snobs who think they are due a certain bowl game and all others are puny.

I fancy myself as an amateur photographer and that's one reason why I like going to college football games in person. It's a rather lame excuse for me to travel, but I enjoy doing it.

Check out this photo I caught before the Utah/Oregon State game last season. Even though I had a crummy disposable camera, I like finding shots like this.

As far as Ohio State projected to go to a BCS game, GREAT!!! But we’re tired of losing to SEC TEAMS. if the powers that be are FReerers. please schedule a Big 12 team to face Ohio State. That way, if we lose, at least it’s against another conference.

Are you talking about the benches? lol The kids jump up and down and they break from the weight - so they hand them over the top of everyone to get them out of the area so no one falls over them or gets cut. I thought they were pulling them up but my daughter said they break!
