Stop abusing the 'banglist' keyword in non-RKBA threads.

Whoever out there on the BangList group is adding the keyword 'banglist' to all these non-RKBA related threads, knock it off.

So far, we've got banglist pings going out on all sorts of irrelevant threads such as any mention of Congressman Henry Waxman taking over a chairmanship from Rep. Dingell and those where Obama's CHANGE.ORG website defines anyone making over $100k as 'the rich'. These are not RKBA issues no matter how you try to justify some tenuous link.

Whoever is doing it, stop putting 'banglist' into every little thread that captures your attention for whatever reason. This ping list is for articles and issues directly related to the Right To Keep And Bear Arms.

Thank you, too. But I still disagree. Oh, you’re correct that the stories involved didn’t mention guns - when I hit the Banglist on those occasions I also made mention of this connection to the Dingell-Waxman contest in a post.

Anyhow, as I mentioned earlier, GOA doesn’t think that the association is so dubious, and that’s good enough for me.

I’m done discussing this. We clearly disagree, which is OK by me. It is, however, probably a waste of time for both of us at this juncture.

I understand the connection being drawn here that the different people who posted this story were trying to make with guns and Dingell, however the news story that was linked in the FreeRepublic forum made no mention of anything to do with guns. Had the story been about how one was a violent gun grabber while the other had an A+ rating from the NRA... and then gone into the differences between an M4 feed ramp versus the feed ramp of a standard AR15 chambered for .223... then maybe I could understand the purpose behind tagging the article with keyword Banglist. Otherwise, every news story talking about Barack Obama would be fair game for the Banglist keyword because he is the most anti-gun president in this nations history.

The "bang list" is actually a feature of FreeRepublic, where the keyword "banglist" can be added by anyone to any thread to mark it as included, and which can all be referenced as a group by going to http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/banglist/index in your browser.

If, however, you are referring to my privately maintained "RKBA list", that is a group held specifically by myself, and my posts to such will show up in your "Pings".

Assuming you meant the latter, I have added you to my list. I have a feeling it is going to get busy in the next year or two... Unfortunately.

Well, I hope so. I have rarely found anything on the Banglist which caused me to question why it was included, though for some reason a few people seem to think certain topics are verboten.

If your RKBA ping list includes material not on the Banglist, I would be grateful if you would include me (on said RKBA ping list).
