It's time to demand Fox create a nightly news

Posted on 11/22/2008 4:19:53 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

ABC has Gotcha Gibson. NBC has Williams. CBS has Couric. Fox has............

Nothing. There is no national broadcast coming from Fox news.

This needs to change.

I really agree. They have local news, but they need a 30 minute news show that competes with Katie and Brian. They would probably be surprised that it draws in more viewers than King of the Hill reruns.

Then again, maybe not.

The cartoons the local stations run are way more profitable than any news broadcast.

Did it ever occur to you that Fox would have already done this if it was financial viable ?

Network news doesn't make money

There is no national broadcast coming from Fox news.

Actually, FNC is an entire channel dedicated to news. The 6:30pm slot for news broadcasts on the major networks are getting poor ratings and have been mostly shown to be unreliable and untrustworthy. My concern is more with the AM shows on the networks that intertwine politics with feel good concepts. These are subtle and not so subtle ways to indoctrinate.

Why? They are liberal enough now. We don’t simply need another liberal evening news. They have 100% of them now.

^^^^^^^^^^^^Why? You don’t think Fox is really a conservative alternative do you?? ^^^^^^^^^^

They’ll be about the only thing left once net neutrality and localism(fairness doctrine) are implemented.

Give me a year or so. Then I’ll easily and resoundingly be able to answer you with a “yes”.

As of right now, no. With the smears of Sarah, Fox is nothing more than an RNC house organ.

^^^^^^^^^^^More and better can be found on the internet^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, it can be *FOUND* on the internet. But we need a better delivery system. If we had a better(and/or more well rounded) delivery system we wouldn’t need to search so hard.

^^^^^^^^^^^Did it ever occur to you that Fox would have already done this if it was financial viable ?^^^^^^^

Of course. The current three networks have shot their credibility to high ........ something. :-)

Anyways, all it would take would be for somebody new to come in and restore the trust.

That could be fox, if they wanted it. They lead the cable ‘nets in ratings, I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same in broadcast.

^^^^^^^^^^Network news doesn’t make money^^^^^^^^^

Oh the ifs.

“it’s time to demand”

“this needs to change”

Uh, okay.

By the way, Fox is a tabloid.

Yeah, most of their reporters are liberal. I know. But it’s easy to see a clear distinction between Fox and any other of the rabidly left wing outlets.

And it won’t be very long before it’s all we have left.

I suggested to them that there is a big conservative news market and a bigger middle range market, but, maybe we conservatives are kidding ourselves. The kids are being turned into ying-yangers with no knowledge of real truth. So who cares?

News Corporation

Rupert Murdoch is not one to throw his money away on a Networks News division

BTW, your idea is a good one, but it's all about the timing.

Of course, of course. Timing is everything.

I just have a feeling that a conservative oriented news outlet would be a big hit because of the amount of disenfranchised conservatives out here.

There are more conservatives than liberals. Polling has consistently shown that. Watching liberal politicians campaign also prove it. So it stands to reason that conservatives would watch if they didn’t feel like they were constantly under attack while just trying to get a glimpse of the nation and the world. I know I would tune in regularly.

I believe that is what FNC considers the 1-hour Fox Report, every night of the week at 7 PM to be.

I don’t think I have ever met a person who actually likes Shepherd Smith. Why does he have his own show?

*shrug*

They should put it in broadcast. I’ve seen things in there that I’ve never seen anywhere else.(in MSM)

Fox has Shep Smith a rabid Democrat, Colmes a rabid liberal, BOR a middle of the road Democrat. I don’t want more of that on the nightly news.

I want the truth and we don’t have anything but the Internet to get the truth out and spread around.

I wish all the conservative commentators would combine some of their abilities to create a real conservative cable news station. Give each one a large chunk of stock in it based on how much they contributed to get it going.

Give us real, unabashed, conservative news. Conservative news is based on truth. Liberal news is based on lies and slander. I think the Conservative station would smoke, smolder and then take fire.

With the upcoming "Fairness Doctrine" this and XM radio may be the only way our beloved talk hosts will be heard.
