License Plates for the Internet - The Blueprints for Obama's Assault on the Internet

The report's recommendations emphasize taking away cybersecurity from DHS in order to create a special department to oversee cybersecurity. It recommends ending the division between civilian and national security systems. And calls for establishing "international norms" when it comes to the internet.

And it focuses a good deal on identity verification, not just for Federal employees, but for ordinary Americans as well.

The report urges a move away from passwords, and toward physical identity verification, via a device that would verify an individual's identity. And calls for "government issued credentials" to be used by consumers.

It was almost as if McCain threw the election.

I mean, just look at the steps:

1. Threw away the "experience" argument (the strongest card in his hand) with his VP pick.
2. Threw away the "sound fiscal policy" argument (the next strongest card in his hand) with his fecklessness on economic issues.
3. Threw away the "better Presidential gravitas" argument (the third yada yada yada) with his crummy debate performance.

Also, instead of criticizing his opponent he praised him. When Palin lit a fire under the base he reined her in.

Thanks for the ping.

I believe we will see more and more articles about “Obama’s Assault on whatever law, custom, rule, etc. etc. he doesn’t like.

IOW, Obama is assaulting America.

And, what are we going to do about it?

Check out the original at the link. I have always said the left would target the internet. Free speech has it’s days numbered. The oligrachies don’t like an informed public, they prefer trickle down information after they have filtered it.

Having a Senate rule that respects the filibuster could be invaluable. Maybe McCain and his gang of fourteen could be memorialized as conservative heros??? Who’da thunk it, not so long ago?

It is really too good to be true (the Internet, that is). I have thought its days were numbered too. At least the freedom, the relative anonymity, unless you say something criminal.

From an old Ledbelly song: "Meetin' at the buildin' soon be over, soon be over, soon be over, Meetin' at the buildin' soon be over, all over this world." Or was it "all over this land"? Can't remember . . .

There was several threads after November 4th with people posting they did vote for O because of their hatred for McCain, well I dislike McCain intensely, but O scared and scares the hell out of me and my vote didn’t take one minutes thought.
