Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

Incomplete
He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. —Philippians 1:6

When I was a little girl, my parents bought their first house. One afternoon, the family hopped into the car and drove to see where we soon would be living.

I couldn’t believe it. The house had no windows or doors, and there was a strange odor. The basement was clearly visible through big gaps in the floor and we had to climb a ladder to get down there.

That night when I asked my mother why they wanted to live in a house like that, she explained that the builder wasn’t finished with it yet. “Just wait and see,” she said. “I think you’ll like it when it’s done.”

Soon we began to see changes. The house got windows, then doors. The “funny smell” of new lumber faded. The holes in the floor were covered and a staircase was added. Walls were painted. Mom put up curtains at the windows and pictures on the walls. The incomplete house had been transformed. It had taken some time but finally it was finished.

As Christians, we need “finishing” too. Although the groundwork is laid at our conversion, the growing process continues throughout our life. As we obediently follow Jesus, “the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2), one day we too will be complete.

God sees in us a masterpiece
That one day will be done;
His Spirit works throughout our lives
To make us like His Son. —Sper

Please be patient. God isn’t finished with me yet!

Good Morning All!

Feeling good today, somehow positive even in -11 degrees!
(likely brain freeze, but I like it!)

A New World

The open honest mind, seeks truth first
fitting each new fact till intuition bursts
and floods the mind with new realities
and so creates new concepts for all to see

To daydream something faint until its real
shaping mental clay makes your mind reel
and that special day you hold a new reality
the truth of your dreams you finally get to see

The process of dreaming, imagining the new
is freedom of a special kind I must confess too
where your soul soars into places yet unseen
and the joy of exploring the limits is so keen

Anyone can walk the shores of that amazing land
wherein you seek the yet unseen so close to hand
expecting nothing, and accepting all you find there
you are as Columbus, on the shore of a land so fair

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I’d give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I’d make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always........

Not liking it yet. I think my walls may have too much texture on them, or I should have had the glaze tinted a shade darker or lighter than the wall color. To be fair, the guy at Lowe's said that the pearl effect wouldn't show up much with the glaze being the same color as the wall, but I didn't want a huge effect. So, what I got was an effect so understated that you can barely see it. LOL.

Oh, no. After all that work, but as long as it's a pretty color, you may like the subtle glaze even better. I've always used at least two different colors (usually one darker & one lighter) of glaze over my paint - except for our bedroom, which is really, really subtle - just a touch of white glaze over light-colored walls. (which is also the way I did the guest house walls because, being small, it needed light walls to open it up)

Oh how beautiful and sun-shiny! And that song is very personal for me! Love it!

I have been fooling with a graphic to post and went crazy! I have to get busy here in a moment. Will check in and out though.

I was working on that little graphic and that wasn’t the way I wanted it to look....but I lost my way and gave up...LOL!
Sometimes I try too hard and get more confused. I had some green with the orange and then the shimmer and made an error and just threw up my hands. (Mother said I would have days like this.) ha!

Lovely opening from you and Amy!

Why Me?

  When the hopes are haunted
Naïveté asks, why me?
When the desires are demolished
Naïveté asks, why me?
When temptations are trampled
Naïveté asks, why me?
When passions are pulverized
Naïveté asks, why me?
When wishes are whacked
Naïveté asks, why me?
When dreams are dashed
Naïveté asks, why me?
When fantasies are fettered
Naïveté asks, why me?
When aspirations are amputated
Naïveté asks, why me?
When ambitions are attacked
Naïveté asks, why me?

Strangely,

Naïveté with beauty
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with charm
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with intelligence
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with power
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with influence
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with strength
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with wealth
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with health
Never asks, why me?
Naïveté with luck
Never asks, why me?

just threw a bunch on junk mail on the floor. I’m not picking it up until I throw away more junk and triple bag the utility bills for the trash..I hate the shredder..too noisy!

If it weren't for junk mail, our mailbox would be virtually empty. LOL! I get so dang tired of all the Credit Card offers, the magazine subscriptions, the Insurance junk, etc. I have started opening all of it to see if there is a postage paid return envelope in it - then I scratch through our name, write a great big NO! on it, and stuff everything (including the torn envelope the junk came in!) back into that postage-paid envelope and put it back in the mailbox. After a few times having to pay postage on the junk I send back, some of them I don't hear from again. :)

Legit stuff, yeah - I shred the part that has our name and address on it - otherwise, in the dumpster it goes.
