Is your shepherd's hook the kind that has the legs that go into the ground? That's what I'm using. I had to use a little electrical tape to keep it from wobbling on the thing that holds the baffle up. But it's on my shepherds hook and works like a charm. :)

I left and I'm back. LOL I better get my tail moving. ;) Have a great day!

Awwww.....what a sweet compliment. Thank you, Polly.

Did you have high winds yesterday? It was really windy up here in the San Joaquin Valley. We had taken our 5th wheel out for the weekend and had to put the side awning down before it got ripped off. I don't like the wind. For some reason, it makes me nervous. It is much more calm today, but high winds are predicted again for Wednesday. March came in like a lion and is going out like a lion. I've been ready for April since the end of February.

No high winds here yesterday in Los Angeles. It has been cool and overcast in the mornings with some sun in the afternoon. Windy weather for us here means fire danger, so yes I get tense when the palm trees begin to blow around!

I am about a two hours drive north of you (on I5), between Bakersfield and Fresno. Yes, winds and wildfires are a constant worry where you are. We are in one of the few areas of the state that is not in danger of wildfires, but we are fairly close to a fault line, so there is always something to worry about. But wildfires are the are scariest and so devastating!

Good Military Monday to Amy’s Place!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

You are welcome, Polly. When I saw that heart in the clouds, I thought of your dad, celebrating his earth birthday, up in Heaven.

I try to check my ‘pings’ often - but have missed some, too. Some days, it is impossible to catch every one.

RE: Shepherd’s Hook. It does have the feet or wings or whatever they are. They are not into the ground, just at the ground. So I need to see that they are in the ground?

Now, how far up the pole do you place the baffle? I may have to put some tape on it also, as you suggested. I have to do something because I have to get a new feeder. I put that up for my little yellow finches and I had so many and its killing me because I haven’t replaced that feeder.

I may get the second shepherd’s hook for my wild bird seed. When my husband was here we hung them from fishing line from a limb of the big tree and never had any trouble.
One of the lines recently broke (it had been there for 10 years) You could barely see the fishing line....the feeders looked like they were almost suspended in air...LOL! It was a great idea.

I will get back to work now.

You don’t, and it sounds like you do have a problem there. Hopefully they move and you regain some measure of peace!!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Johnn. It is a sad country that rejects those who put their lives on the line for us. May God bless you forever!

Morning, Amy.

You are probably the only one who will realize that today's opening is a rerun. That one is from back in 2004, I think. Can you believe, FIVE years ago? Anyway, we took the 5th wheel out and camped in the wilds of Visalia this weekend, and I didn't get home in time to make a new opening graphic. Sorry. :-(

We have put the RV in storage for the time being, so life can get back to normal here. The purchase of this truck and RV has just taken over our lives for the past several weeks. I still have a lot to do in order to get the 5th wheel outfitted, but it can be done a little at a time.

That is a beautiful yellow bird! Wish we had such colorful birds here. Would that be a chickadee?

BTW, JK just asked me if there is going to be a 'first FRiday of the month' rally on the 3rd? Also, he needs to know how many signs and what wording you would like for the Tea Party before the 3rd, if he is going to get them ready in time. FReepmail him, or me, your sign requests.
