JACKSON, Mich. -- Tri-County International Trucks employee Dave Dodes told the Jackson Citizen Patriot that three wild turkeys scared a truck driver so much that he stayed in his vehicle at a service shop Friday.

He also said a company worker had to create a diversion so the driver could escape, but the turkeys chased both men inside an industrial building. According to Dodes, the birds have been hanging around the service shop but just recently turned aggressive.

Gimmie one axe, a hot oven, three cans of cranberry sauce, and FIFTEEN MINUTES.

Problem solved, turkey dinner in a couple hours.

No joke we have quite a few wild turkeys where we live and those things are as mean as swans and they can move faster.

Sounds fine to me. What’s the problem? When turkeys chase you then they do not have to be chased, thus, making dinner a lot easier. Wring their necks, pluck, dress and prepare to your liking.

“mean as swans”

Maybe someone should rewrite Swan Lake if they aren’t so peaceful.

In the Northwoods of Wisconsin where I hunt ruffed grouse and woodcock, there are lots of wild turkeys. These brazen birds hang around the shoulders of highways with cars whizzing by. Even when you stop, they’re hanging about. However, when you open the door and start quietly walking towards them with a shotgun in your hand, they scatter, often bumping into one another.

THey aren’t. And in my opinion, turkeys are way meaner than swans.

If you think you can catch a turkey, you’ve obviously never tried it. Even a dog couldn’t catch a turkey...even one with two busted wings and one bad leg.

Well - I don’t know about up there, but down here - mating season is about to roll into town...

Add to that, these pictures appear to be of 2 young males, often called “jakes” who get rather “frustrated” when they don’t get to do the breeding, and the middle picture appears to be a riled-up hen.

Turkeys are even meaner when they've been drinking this...

I used to work in an office building where wild turkeys frequented the the parking lot. One of my co-workers was a very large and muscular fellow, an ex-college football player who was not afraid of much of anything except those darned turkeys! He would refuse to go out to his car until they had left the parking lot. So I guess fear of wild turkeys is not unheard of.
