THANKS.

THAT’S GUY MALONE’S GIG. He put it together with a lot of help from his friends.

Great guy, Guy. An excellent authentic Christian who walks the talk.

John Peel is mostly wrong, imho about the craft.

My relative worked around manufactured craft.

Certainly the critters are in cahoots with satan and the globalist oligarchy.

Your comment is a perfect example of “obfuscation” in that it seeks to confuse instead of clarify.

Most of the time, capable and demonstrating are quite different things hereon in that regard.

FWIW,

Seems to me this thread would be more fitting in the Religion Forum.

Point out the exact statement where I said or implied that.

I've already noted that it was your post 15, to wit:

Skeptics are the mirror image of those who believe without evidence...neither approach the subject scientifically. To both, their belief is a matter of faith and/or desire...and not the product of rational thought

I know plenty of skeptics right here at the Freep who are rational and use logic.

What's confusing? You made a global statement that skeptics were incapable of rational thought. You used no qualifiers. Read your post 15 again.

Bias, whether for or against, is not rational or logical. That doesn't mean that a person who has a bias in one area is incapable of rational thought and behavior in others.

In fact, it doesn't even imply that their conclusion, however reached, is in error. All it means is that their examination is open to error in correlation to the strength or power of their bias.

See my point?

Quix, you know that the burden of proof, without fail, is always on those who make extraordinary claims.

I didn't make any such statement and that is where you resort to obfuscation.

I stated that belief/faith is not a product of rational thought. I did not say that a person who holds beliefs (as we all do) is incapable of rational thought.

That said, I would love to see you parse my statement to prove your point...so have at it.

Hey Quix...can you see where my following statement can in any way be construed as a global pronunciations that skeptics aren't capable of rational thought?
A person setting out to prove something exists is similar to one who sets out to prove the same thing doesn't exist.

They both start from a point of bias and their judgment will be so colored.

Skeptics are the mirror image of those who believe without evidence...neither approach the subject scientifically. To both, their belief is a matter of faith and/or desire...and not the product of rational thought.

I see that:

A person setting out to prove something exists is similar to one who sets out to prove the same thing doesn't exist.

They both start from a point of bias and their judgment will be so colored.

Skeptics are the mirror image of those who believe without evidence...neither approach the subject scientifically. To both, their belief is a matter of faith and/or desire...and not the product of rational thought.

As an obvious truism.

And, as an obviouis truism, it has a global reach. I think it does encompass accurately both perspectives in such a matter.

However, most naysayers break out in hives, appoplexy and hysterical frothing at the mouth when confronted with anything remotely accusing them of having a shred of faith about anything. One wonders how they manage to have faith that other drivers will stop at red lights.

No, all I see is a bunch of pseudo-intellectual psychobabble. The fact remains, however, that you made a global all-encompassing statement that skeptics aren't capable of rational thought, which certainly reveals your biases as a True Believer.

Don't be dense.

Skeptics are certainly capable of rational thought as I have stated previously. You are the one who is insisting they are not...and doing so rather irrationally if I may say so.

I'm a skeptic and it has nothing to do with a belief system or "faith" or "desire". When the kook fringies make their insane claims, I and the other "naysayers" question them and easily take them apart with nothing but common sense and rationality, which the True Believers would try, in typical leftist fashion, to demonize.
