Where were you during the Woodstock Concert?
Pure Vanity

Someone recently asked me if I had attended the Woodstock Concert in 1969. I had to disappoint them by telling them I was in Navy flight training and about to go to Navy SERE School (one reason we vets laugh so hard when the Dems claim we've been "torturing" the guests at Gitmo by denying them a private swimming pool and making them eat gourmet dinners off plastic plates).
For those of us who are over 50, where were you during the mud, drug, desease, and feces-soaked "expression of universal love" the end of August in 1969 that has attained mythic status among the Leftists?

At Danang....but at SERE in March of that year.
Woodstock was forty miles from my hometown and all my friends wrote me about it. Lot's of mud and loud noise. I really can't relate.

Thanks for posting a link to that article.
A poignant yet annoying reminder that the cream of American youth gave their lives to save S.E. Asia from what we’ve now got in control of our government.
I had just been discharged from active duty in the Army and was working. I never even heard of Woodstock until much later.

I was in Jr. High. Teachers were making us write letters to Hanoi begging for the release of our servicemen.

My youngest son went to Woodstock II in '94. He was 23 at the time. Just about the same age as me when the first one took place. In 1999, they held another Woodstock-style festival in Rome, NY, which is where I live. I made sure I left town while it was on.
