An invitation to join Dame Shirley Bassey at the Ritz Casino is not to be ignored - reports The Times. After unveiling her new album, The Performance, we ask the Welsh wonder, 72, if she is ready to return glamour and hummability to that much abased commodity, the James Bond theme tune.

Anything would be better than the last "Bond Theme" from the White Stripes.
Actually, any Bond movie would be better than the last one - what a letdown after Casino Royale!

As long as we never see the horrors of previous Bond crooners like Sheryl Crow and Madonna.

I would like them to do a Bond movie based on the NOVELS ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ and ‘You only live Twice’.

Agreed. Madonna’s was probably the worst by far.
The Casino Royale one was good. I also really like The World Is Not Enough by Garbage.
Aha’s Living Daylights was okay to good. Duran Duran View to a Kill was so so.

I got to see Shirley Bassey at a dinner show in Puerto Rico many, many years ago. Can't recall what her hits were back then, Light My Fire?
After that I read that she developed a debilitating disease and you never heard much about her from then on.

Duran Duran was a product of the times, like Live and Let Die. Not bad. And better than the movie. Moore looked 70 years old and Tanya Roberts was a disaster.

I actually like John Barry’s Instrumental from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” Carley Simon’s,”Nobody Doesn’t it Better”, and Gladys Kight’s “Licence to Kill”.

LOL! Moore did look 70 years old. Tanya Roberts was cardboard but looked good. Was this the one with Christopher Walken?

I actually like John Barrys Instrumental from On Her Majestys Secret Service Carley Simons,Nobody Doesnt it Better, and Gladys Kights Licence to Kill. All good. The worst ever, IMHO, are "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge, "Tomorrow Never Dies" by Sheryl Crow and "Die Another Day" by Madonna.

.
I thought I saw somewhere she is still performing?
Maybe I should link a 007 webpage with ALL of the songs

Was this the one with Christopher Walken?Yep. He was hammier than Telly Savalas in OHMSS.
To: Frantzie
Yes, That was Lois Maxwell’s last Bond movie as well (may she rest in peace).

I found one, but all of the songs were removed because Chubby’s heirs threaten to sue.

Gosh, I had to Google him! Knew the songs but forgot his name! Wonderful songs he composed.
[John Barry Prendergast, born on 3 November 1933 in York, England) is an English film score composer. He is best known for composing 11 James Bond soundtracks and was hugely influential on the 007 series’ distinctive style.]

Do it! You made some great James Bond webpages.
I forgot what Bassey had but it was a bad disease.
